Gerald Wallace just ranted again.

#Celtics F Gerald Wallace said game should have been won easily, with starters sitting in 4th, instead guys started trying to pad stats.

Quote
Chris Forsberg ‏@ESPNForsberg
Wallace on selfish play: "I really don’t even understand it. I’m trying to figure out what’s more important, winning or padding your stats?"

And Jeff Green cosigns..

Quote
Baxter Holmes ‏@BaxterHolmes
Jeff Green: "We’ve got to figure out ways to put egos aside."

I gave him a pass the 1st time, but this talking to the media stuff HAS TO STOP. Say what you have to say, but keep it in the locker room and Wallace I remember you making some mistakes yourself. This locker room will divide, and very quickly.

I actually like it.

If anyone has to play the bad guy, it should be Wallace.

It's not like what he said isn't true either.

You don't keep saying this type of stuff to the media..keep it in the locker room, especially when the comments are basically pointing the finger at others and absolving him of any fault with the loss.

He is right,

They stopped playing team ball the last quarter

Tommy called it,  everybody playing selfish trying to be the hero...

That last quarter was one of the tuffest. Pills I had to take watching in a longtime

I don't agree with that. I think that when the tempo slowed we stopped getting those transition baskets and this caused all sorts of problems in our halfcourt sets. Plus, Milwaukee kept going in and out of a 2/3 zone, so you combine our lack of perimeter shooting with our lack of a true PG and that to me is the reason why we went into such an offensive drought.

Jeff Green got in the action too.

I see it as leadership.

It's a hard balance. I think we, as fans, all appreciate whatever insights we can get into the locker room. And Gerald Wallace has always been good for a solid quote.

On the other hand, putting myself in their team's shoes, I agree with your sentiment.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I guess..I don't see it that way. Sometimes everything doesn't need to be said to the outside.

+1.
Things like this need to be said. He's not taking issue with the loss, but the way we lost. If you play the right way and lose, so be it.take your lumps and move on.  But to lose like that. Its embarrassing. I feel that way as a fan, so I can't imagine how it feels as a player.

Gerald is a guy who plays all out and is unselfish - some times to a fault. I have no problem with his comments because I know he's gonna practice what he preaches.

Also, I'm gonna take a guess and say one of the guys he's talking about is Brandon Bass. No Pass Bass definitely was in full effect in that second half.

Wallace is right. I really like his passion. The team, stop moving the ball.

Olynyk barely gets touches. Nothing he can do to help.

The passing the ball has to comeback

this is the result of a coach that has no control of his team. Doc would put gerald in his place if he did this.

You know, WHAT-EVER.

It's not like this team can get much worse.   But of course if it does, then good!  Get Wiggins or JParker, lol.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'm probably on the minority but I like it.

I understand that it's a locker room issue that needs to be said inside the locker room but I think Crash is taking the tough love route.

He's all effort out there and I think he believes that shaming his teammates in public could set them up straight.

Whether it's going to yield a positive result or not remains to be seen. But I love what he did. I think he's challenging his teammates in a sense, by putting them in a situation where the public knows what a laughing stock this team would be, so either you accept that or do something about it.

I think its now an open question; has Stevens lost the locker room? Did he even have it to begin with?
