Not a huge deal but pretty bad that a supposed lifelong pats and red sox fan gave up on these teams on Sunday.

You get the feeling a guy like Pierce (also a fan of both teams) would never have shut them off. Maybe because he's been a part of some historic comebacks himself.

I don't know just rubs me the wrong way a little bit hearig about a guy you want to route for through thick and thin bailing on his teams. Especially when the guy is a professional athlete himself and you'd think would be more rational than another fan(atic)

Why would you think Pierce wouldn't turn off the games too? You're creating reasons to dislike Wallace when it comes to this.

There's nothing wrong with him not watching until the end. I'm a die hard C's fan and some times I had to change the channel at the end just to be calm (especially if it's against the Heat).

I think we're starting to put PP on this pedestal as though he's this perfect person that can do no wrong..no need in really comparing Wallace to PP in this instance.

This is a complete non-issue.

This reminds me of the time Bill Russell refused to leave a New England Revolution match even though they were down 16-0.

They came back to tie 16-16.

I figured people would jump on me for bringing this up.

I did say it rubs me the wrong way didn't say I dislike him although I don't think he is very good.

Its pretty weak as a fan to do that. Like leaving a celtics laker/heat games cause we are down 8-10 with 2 minutes left.

Wasn't Bosh and some of the Heat players telling some of their fans that left that Spurs comeback game "not to come back to game 7"

I'd say its pretty similar.

Wallace should be a little embarrassed. Talking about Brady being his favorite athlete alive and leaving early like that giving up on him.

I was about to miss the end of the Pats game (after the INT), and I didn't watch the end of the Sox game. I've also missed the ends of multiple Celtics games. I don't particularly feel embarrassed by it.

Yeah I definitely think that's weak but at least you didn't shake Bradys hand on the field, talk about how him and Michael Jordan are the only athletes you've ever wanted to meet, probably could get escorted out, miss traffic etc. Just to duck out of a game a minute and half early.

Pretty sure the next time they meet and Brady makes a crack about it he would feel or should feel a little embarrased.

I think at some point or another, we've all been guilty of changing the channel or leaving the arena a few minutes early to beat the traffic because the outcome was pretty much determined.  It is what it is.  I don't knock anyone for it.  90% of the time, if the odds are not in your team's favor of making a comeback, it probably won't happen.  Yes, there are those times it does happen and you say, "[dang], I should have stayed" or "I should have kept the channel on."  It's whatever to me.  As long as you still follow that team at the end of the day and pay attention to them on a fairly regular basis, that's all that matters.

If he's really as big a fan of Brady's as he says then I'm sure he's more annoyed about missing the end of the game then you are that he is.

I happened to miss the end of the game, not giving up but just had to be somewhere before it ended..move on

complete non-issue.

I've had to leave a couple of C's games early in order to catch a 10:35 train in Back Bay to Providence.  When the next one is at 12:05, with an hour's ride on the train PLUS the time left to drive home AND an alarm for 5:15 to get up for work the next day -- I still hate to do it but I blame the NBA for making a game that's supposed to start at 7:30 run until after 10 rather than me not wanting to be there for the end (which is what would do if at all possible).

a bit off-topic from Wallace but opened the door about why some people don't catch the end of games

You should be happy Wallace is even such a great fan of both those teams without ever really living in New England. Geez.
