I think Jeff Green needs to be the starter at the small forward position. Despite lackluster efforts in our first three preseason games, he is our most talented player while Rondo is on the sidelines.
I understand that folks are frustrated that he is coasting through the preseason so far, but I predict that once they actually start to keep score of wins and losses that he'll look considerably better.
I think Green's playing himself into the position he was in last year--which is to come off the bench unless and until he can force himself back into the starting lineup.
Sully's most clearly won a starting spot, and Wallace is probably second in that. Plus, they both seem to play best together.
Neither Bass nor Humphries has grabbed a hold of the other big starter position, but Olynyk is clearly going to need some time to get adjusted to the pro game.
I'm also thinking Bradley and Crawford need to start in the backcourt, with Pressey getting some experience and being tested as the first guard off the bench.
Whether KO, VF, or PP can force their way into the lineup (before Rondo returns, in Pressey's case) is open to question. Neither Humphries nor Bass seems like a particularly good tandem with Sully, but one of them has to start until someone else steps up.
I'm hoping KO starts shooting and otherwise looking better soon, but he may need a season off the bench after all.
