That said, the article below, calling Fab the biggest NBA bust in the lottery era, is ridiculous (not to mention, misleading). They make it sound like he was a lotto pick.

I'm not giving Danny a pass on this pick, though. I know it was a gamble, I know it's always a gamble when you're drafting that low in the first round, not a lot of players picked after him who have been big contributors, blah blah blah.
When you draft a kid who's cut before he gets into year 2 of a 2-year guaranteed contract, that's a BUST. When your team trades an EXTRA three hundred large - in addition to the money they already owed you - so that you wouldn't play for them, that's a BUST.
And... it happened with JJJ, too. Two of Danny's last three first rounders (not counting KO) were SO TERRIBLE, they were waived while they still had ~$1.5M of guaranteed monies due to them (and haven't been able to stick on any other teams, even at a fraction of that cost).
Danny has certainly had a lot of really, really good picks over the years - but those two picks were horrible.
