What do you think they plan to do with him?  Will he be an undersized center for one year and then let his salary roll off?

The team is expected to be around $10 mil under the cap next season if nothing changes.  Thats only with 11 players under contract, including Faverani.

Obviously if you can package Humphres with Courtney Lee and get a good player that someone is trying to dump, you look into it.  But, who can you get?  Would you have to throw in  Sullinger and/or a bunch of draft picks.  Doing that kind of trade keeps you over the cap.

So trade him?  Keep him and let him play out his contract?  Does he play center since Bass, Green, and Sullinger can all play the 4?  Or do they play Olynyk and Faverani at center and no one else?

I think he will come to camp and be given a chance to win the starting PF job. He is a much better career rebounder than anyone else we have so there is a chance we keep him next year if we can get a decent contract.(unlikely) This will enhance his value and IF we get the chance to trade him during the season we will get a better package in return.

If he is playing any time at center it will be off the bench and in desparation because Olynyk, Faverani and Sullinger are horrible. Even then, we may elect to not play him at center unless we play a lot of small ball.

I also look for Bass and Lee to play big minutes early to help establish value. I doubt anyone is going to give us top dollar for either one but Bass is a more valuable commodity at this point.
