I like felger and Maz. Felger hates basketball but a lot of the reasons he hates it is pretty valid.

He usually praises the organization, owners, gm and did praise KG Pierce and Doc.

I enjoy their interviews with Doc, danny and Wyc. Always entertaining and they at least ask some bold questions.

I doubt Felger will have too much to do with actual celts stuff. Theyll probably get tanguay doing that. He was already with 98.5 previously and Felger is the Bruins Tanguay on comcast so it only makes sense Tanguay would be that for the celts

If Russilo does come back, WEEI might want to avoid pairing him with John Dennis

The funny thing is all these years later, Russillo is the one having a heckuva career while Dennis is a dinosaur on his last legs.

Yeah, how the tides have turned. At the time Dennis and WEEI were on top of the world and Russilo was on the failing Zone. Now, Russilo is a national host on Espn and Dennis will soon be unemployed. Based on WEEI's recent history anyway.

Based on listening to EEI this morning, perhaps they would love to pair Russillo and Dennis.  They seem to be turning into the WWE under the new management.  This morning, Meter's replacement (I don't even know who he is) was going on about how much he hated Haggarty, who was apparently up for a job there.  Apparently they have some rivalry going on of some sort.  And they basically used a whole segment talking about it.  A few weeks ago, they spent days going after the writer who killed them in the globe (and it was terrific radio, even if it made them look petty).

I am not sure if this can last in the longrun, but I kind of like this direction they're going in.  Really turning WEEI into the Real Housewives of Boston Sports Media.

I've been loving D&C too. Kirk Minihan has been a great addition to that show.

I couldnt get any WEEI audio before during pre and postgame (not from the Boston area), anybody know if I'll be able to now via online or radio apps?

tune in app can get 98.5, actually tune in worked for weei as well
It does get WEEI but right around during the game pre and postgame it would make me buy some type of pass or something would not let me listen. It was weird I know because a couple games I wasn't home an tried listening through the radio but no dice. Hopefully I can get SportsHub.

Well i meant the NBa. The officiating is a joke, sone of the rule changes are a joke, there's no defense whether teams dont play it or rule changes not allowing you to play defense. The playoffs are extremely predictable. Stars get an unbelievable amount of calls. It is far less ofa team sport much more of an individual sport. There is kittle strategy in basketball. Whoever has the best players is going to win 9 out of 10 times.

Its kinda ridiculous that one of the biggest upset stories was a 4th seeded celtics team making the finals.

(WEEI is prohibited from streaming Red Sox and Celtics broadcasts) or was anyways.

I used to find this a lot with flagships stations for certain teams in terms of streaming. I could get around it sometimes if I could find one of the affiliate stations streaming it, but it was a big NO for the most part. There are team, league rights and advertisers rights all jumbled up that prevents them from doing so.

It's like a local TV station that has to show their own NFL hilights (Channel 5 in Boston used to do this, I don't know if they still do) because the league owns the rights to the game through some convoluted system.

Of course, there are ways around it............ 8)

I disagree with a lot of this.  Firstly, most of the top NBA teams play very good defense, even with the rule changes.  Points per game, and offensive ratings are both much lower than in the 1980s.  There was definitely some good, stifling defense in the '90s, and there are still some very good defensive teams out there playing today.  Our team has been one of them, so I'm kind of surprised to hear a Celtics fan say there's no defense in the NBA.

I also disagree with your categorization of basketball as more of an individual sport than a team sport.  Sure, it helps to have supremely talented players, but even supremely talented players won't win unless they have good teammates, and a good, collective, team approach to the game.  I think we've seen that prove itself to be true over the course of the last decade or so.

There's a lot of strategy in basketball.  It may not be as closely choreographed as in other sports (like football), and it relies more on improvisation and creativity than a lot of other sports.  I guess, that aspect is something that has always drawn me to basketball, both as a participant and a spectator, as opposed to turning me away from it.

The officiating could use some help, though.  That point I agree with.

I can receive both those stations in southern california on internet radio on my onkyo 809 av receiver, but i dont know if i can get the games because i usually watch the games on nba league pass. This year i'll check about half an hour before the game starts and see if i can at least get the pre game show on the radio.
