Imo, I don't see DA and the front office taking a chance on Beasley.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
This is perhaps the most shocking news of the NBA off-season...

Nah, once he got caught, you knew he was gone somehow. The only difference is if PHx could get out from under his contract.

And if he should get picked up by a team and produce at a respectable season, remember this thread when someone posts the inevitable "Why didn't we sign Michael Beasley?" and the subsequent "Danny Ainge is a bad GM, we should've hired Bird when we had the chance" responses.

But really, I think the Spurs make a ton of sense - especially if they move him to the 4 full time.

Heavy dose of sarcasm ;)

He didn't perform very well then got in trouble for smoking pot...again. Like you said, you knew who was gone whether via trade or release.

If he'd fit anywhere I'd say it's the Knicks.  They're a bunch of knuckleheads anyway but they're at least intense.  Maybe guys like JR Smith, Kmart and Artest's intensity could rub off on him and make him productive.

It's a pity the team has so many PFs already on the roster. Otherwise, Beasley would be a great move. A low cost high reward opportunity.

Beasley could be a very good signing for someone. Maybe Houston.
He will be a low cost, no reward player for someone.  He has been a talented but horrible player thus far in his career and has gotten worse year by year.  Only a lobotomy could help him as a player.  The motivation just isn't there, and it's not going to suddenly appear.

What a waste of talent.

It's amazing that Beasley and Durant put up almost identical stats as freshman in the Big 12.

Link

You can't teach pure talent but you also can't take a horse to water and make it drink. People have tried to get Beasley to be interested in playing and he's never responded. My guess is that he ends up in Cleveland since they're taking some big risks this year (Bynum) and were interested in upgrading their 3 spot. Beasley is a tremendous physical talent but between the weed and pure lack of effort he's going to end up wasting it all. Can't believe he's still so young. Seems like he's been in the league forever.

Beasley continues to prove that he's nothing more than a taller Ricky Buckets.

With Jeff Green and Gerald Wallace at the 3, and Sully (....) and KO at the 4, there's no need to even think about bringing Beasley aboard.  Doesn't fit with the C's, and honestly...  how often do we REALLY see these knuckleheads turn things around?

the Nets taking a chance on him wouldn't surprise me.  Vet min which is what they can afford.  Enough talented vets there that could theoretically keep him in line.  Could shore up the back up 3/4 behind AK and provide some offense off the bench for them.

Beasley working with a quality PG like Deron could be fairly effective off the bench.

I am sufficiently scornful of Beasley's performance and issues that I sincerely hope he becomes a Laker.

I'm pretty sure that Kobe would absolutely hate the guy. Make it happen!

Woj sez the Heat are thinking about signing him.

Not as shocking as Fab Melo clearing waivers

I am sure you are kidding because everyone knows Melo is a STIFF!!!
