Sam Amico: Free-agent PG Sebastian Telfair drawing interest from Celtics, Lakers and Spurs, league sources say. Twitter @SamAmicoFSO

Probably means they want to take it slow on Rondo's return and don't want to put primary PG duties on an undrafted Pressey's shoulders. Makes sense, but I would still rather see the Celts take a flyer on somebody new.

  • No no no, not THAT "Eric M Van".
It's hard to believe (for me) that Telfair is only 28 years old. (Just turned 28 in June!) Seems like he's been around forever.

I'm surprised he's still in the league.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Telfair's a viable backup PG who can sop up minutes.

If they sign him, he will end up getting sent to the bench by Rondo twice in his career.

Telfair is definitely a respectable back-up PG, don't mind the signing at all if it happens, though I do wonder who would be cut to make room for him.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Donte Green will be gone.

Telfair is just so underwhelming.  hate to think Danny can't find anyone better.

Is there a better FA point guard left?  I dont think so, but I may have missed someone.

I would be happy to have him until Rondo is back to speed.

Yeah this is an excellent point. Dudes been around forever and he's just now in his "prime". Wild. But yeah nothing wrong with Telfair taking up a few minutes.

Given where the team is, I'd much rather have Donte Green than Telfair.

And no, there is no one better at backup PG than Telfair.  Especially none that would come here for basically the minimum.

We're getting the band back together. Gomes is available too. D-West is looking for a team and most importantly G-Money could be had for nothing too!

Between Pho and Tor, Telfair shot 0.362 from the field including 0.353 from 3-pt.  So my conclusion is that he will be perfect.  Good enough so that it will appear we are not tanking while certainly bad enough that we are not going to have any real chance of winning, and cheap enough (one would think) to be, well cheap.

Perfect.

It's amazing to think back to the 2006-2007 team; I figured at the time that there was a lot of talent there that just needed some time to develop, but if you put that team back together on the court in 2013 you'd be lucky to win 25 games.
