I've always though that as great as Wilt Chamberlain was he's still overrated. Top ten, sure but not top three. I never felt he had the will or mindset of the trully GREAT players like MJ, Bird or Russell. He had the body and skills but I question his will.
I agree, and though I see the logic of putting Russell and Wlit next to each other, there's just no room to do that on my top-5:

Bill Russell
Michael Jordan
Magic Johnson
Larry Bird
Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt is the best player ever! If he were playing today Lebron would be an afterthought as would Kobe. Imagine a 7'1'' Lebron with superior athletic skills and with much, much more strength.

I would have to rank Russel as number 2 and Jordan 3rd. Does anyone really think MJ would score at will against Russel? Nor around the basket he wouldn't have. Does anyone believe Ro[dang] would have gotten rebounds from Russell?

See then I think Russell is overrated. He was on a team full of hall of famers and won titles in a league with much fewer teams. What puts him over the top is that he won those titles against the guy who should have been (if not was) the greatest player of the era. The rest of the competition was much worse, individually and especially from a team perspective. So if Wilt's not that good, then Russell was just taking his HoF gang and beating up on softies.

Why though?  Wilt consistently and significantly out performed Russell in their head to heads in the playoffs. You know in the games that really matter.  His teams were just awful in comparison to Russell's Celtics until the mid to late 60's (you know when Wilt picked up a couple of titles).  There is only so much one player can do.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Misleading title,
Lebron was asked who his top 3 players are.
Not the top 3 players in history.

Lebron is entitled to his own opinion.
Just like anybody else.

I don't really know what the fuss is about.
Thats HIS top 3, not yours, not mine. It's his.

Peope will always find a way to hate on whatever Lebron says.

I know right? I'm not even a Lebron supporter and I'm on his side with this.

What next? Whats Lebrons top 3 fast food places?

Burger King
Carl's Jr
Taco Bell

Oh no lets hate on him because he did not put Mcdonalds on there!

Some people just need to chill.

I'm ok with no McDonald's but if there's no Wendy's on there Lebrn and I are gonna come to blows.  ;D

Perhaps listen to your own advice?  Why aren't people entitled to their own opinions regarding LeBron's opinions?

It's not like LeBron doesn't have a long, documented history of saying/doing unbelievably dumb things.  I'm not surprised people don't rush to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

He lost to the Celtics when he had a better team. He also lost to the Knicks when their best player was broken. And by the things that some of the players like Russell have said about him over the years made me question his dedication to the game. Or the dedication to the level of guys like MJ or Russell.

Hey, I think the guy was great. Top 10 or even 5 players of all time easy. I just wouldn't put him in my top 3.
Peace through Tyranny

We all know Wendy's has the freshest burger of all time. Hall of fame type beef patty, with all star sauce and a great bacon game.

You could say that about most things involving sports fandom.

So, uh, how'd you feel about the KG and Pierce trades?

The 2010 Finals?

This is an icy pitch we're chilling down on...
