Humphries more of a one trick poney. If he stays you can bet it is to fill in once Humphries is traded for a PG or SF. Much more versatile which raises the question of how Humphries is making so much in the first place.
Hump was paid as much as he was, for the same reason that Bogans was: a way to get more money back in a trade. He got KG/PP to the Nets, so his short-years big-money contract served its purpose.

The Celtics have told Shavlik Randolph that they are not picking up his option, Randolph's agent tells the @BostonGlobe.

Too bad, I wanted him back.

All of my hate, Danny Ainge. All of it. I will miss Shav. He was fun to watch.

You'll get over it.  You'll get over all of it.

Oh well, maybe we can bring Shav back once Humphries is traded, Sully and/or Olynyk is injured, and Fab is still too bad to play in the NBA.

No, I think it merely means that Danny couldn't find a taker for Bass or Crawford, so no sense in adding a guaranteed contract that you may be forced to waiver later on regardless.

I rebuke that in the name of Jesus! I wanted Shav to stay but I don't want him here do to injury!

Good luck Shav! Hope all goes well for you! A guy who worked hard and hustled, a true professional!

Well saw it coming, but disappointing.

He can join the celtics amnesty allstars:

Will Bynum (he was waived a few years back I think)
Donte Christmas
Kris Joseph
DJ White
Shav Randolph

Any big ones I missed that have some back to haunt.

It's only Shavlik Randolph; better than having to waive, say, Brandon Bass.

That is a little surprising.

I'd actually say the opposite.

I thought for sure Danny would manage to trade him to a contender in a Reggie Evans role for a second round pick.  I am a little disappointed that we are losing a minor asset for nothing.
