From a certain perspective, tanking as outlined by some pro-tankers amounts to telling a young man straight from college "we got rid of all our talent last year to get a hold of you because it is up to you to single handedly protect the legacy of our storied franchise against all the NBA." That is sinply not the burden a person wants to find themselves given 1st job straight out of college. Is it no wonder sometimes these superstars team up to share the load?

This is a ridiculous scenario that doesn't have much logic to it at all. However, I see where you're coming from, and agree with you completely. There are way too many risks about tanking, and this team is in a position where trying to tank would be detrimental to the team. Besides, as it stands Boston looks like a lock for a 5-10 pick anyway. It'd be absolutely stupid to trade a proven star PG just to move up a couple picks in a loaded draft anyway.
