Detroit Pistons (If rondo is acquired)

i wonder if joe dumars sees this potential, and can win now next season with this lineup. Yes the shooting is nowhere to be found, but like we were thinking about when almost acquiring deandre jordan, this team is really athletic. All players who yet arent all Proven winners, but are all veterans and can play in the playoffs.

Rondo
Billups????
Gerald wallace
Josh smith
Greg Monroe

also pistons will have mo cheeks in the locker room who rondo should semi respect. Have billups on the roster who will be a good influence on rondo. Also rasheed played with rondo who is also on the coaching staff. I might actually go out on a limb and say Detroit is probably a destination Rondo is dieng to go to.

What do you guys think opf the pistons if they trade for rondo.

I don't get the obsession with this so called rumour about RR with Detroit.
99% nothing will happen but yet people speculate everyday.

While it is not likely (like most trade scenarios), it seems the most plausible. We land a younger, very good big and they get the pg they covet in order to win now. They just got Josh Smith without giving up anything, they should feel that they have some wiggle room to give up either Monroe or Drummond and, ultimately, I think that offer is coming...whether or not Danny bites is what matters.

It couldn't happen until September 12th, but Rondo, Wallace and Crawford for Charlie V's expiring deal, Stuckey's expiring deal, Brandon Knight and Andre Drummond works money-wise.

Boston would be giving up a long time all star for a big man prospect who might never be a great player, a decent young PG, and expiring deals.  Boston also gets value from getting out from under Wallace's three year deal.

I personally don't want to see Rondo traded,  but I do see the logic of this kind of move.  It would pretty much guarantee a high draft pick this summer in a loaded draft, and if young Drummond develops, he could be a very good big.

For Detroit, they already have a solid low post player in Monroe, and playing Monroe, Drummond, and Smith together probably isn't going to work, because none of them can shoot. The could roll out a team that would be very good defensively and should be able to put points on the board.

In general, how comfortable are people with Monroe over Drummond?

 I could see Detroit wanting create the most athletic front line in the league with Lob City Central. Josh Smith and Drummond are as physical as they come and they would be being fed good looks by one of the league's most creative passers in Rondo.

I'd be ecstatic with Monroe myself. Gorgetown kid would fit like a glove in this youth movement. Legit size and post presence. Excellent Passer and an improved defender.

Drummond may be the better player potentially, but, I would be pretty happy with Monroe too.  He is already nearly averaging a double-double and is only 23 years old.  For Detroit, I actually don't think that Drummond makes a ton of sense for them as he cannot shoot, whilst Monroe can.  In a theoretical line up with Rondo and Smith, wouldn't they rather have the more skilled/better shooter in Monroe?

Either way, Monroe or Drummond, with Knight, I would be pretty happy with that.

I don't think so. Sheed was their starting PF in that team. Big Ben was their Center. Tayshaun Prince playing the wing. Billups and Rip in the backcourt.

Man that lineup was scary good!

Pretty sure Roy meant GERALD Wallace in his post

Anyway, I would much rather have Drummond than Monroe. If this trade were to happen, I really hope DA pushes for Drummond.

Sheed started after he was traded to the Pistons via the Hawks/Celtics trade.

He didn't have two spare tires at that point so he was able to play PF very well.

I'm a Georgetown fan and would LOVE to get Monroe. His offensive skills are better than most big men at his age and he has the passing ability to create opportunities for others. If he improves his defense to be up to par with his scoring ability, he has perennial all-star ability.

I wouldnt say billups is starting. I was just saying idk who they have over there for guards, I actually forgot about caldwell pope. Gerald wallace is not a bad starting 3, hes just overpaid is all. He can guard the best SFs out there, and is his High energy. He is just not a good fit for this rebuilding celtics team.

 A team of rondo,monroe,smith with fillers can contend and to me can fight for the 4 or 5 seed in the east. Just because im saying wed be better off to trade rondo, does not mean im undervaluing his ability. I see rondo as arguably a top 3 point gaurd.
