Sometimes when they look in that locker their jerseys won’t be there. That’s the best way to keep those guys’ minutes down.”

I wonder how that's going to fly with KG,but especially PP.

Doc gave KG games off recently. Pierce less so.

I think they might grumble but only a little.

It has the exact quotes and the audio from the interview that this post is referring to.

Smart idea and I had wished Doc had done so more often.
2020 CelticsStrong All-2000s Draft -- Utah Jazz

Finals Starters:  Jason Kidd - Reggie Miller - PJ Tucker - Al Horford - Shaq
Bench:  Rajon Rondo - Trae Young - Marcus Smart - Jaylen Brown -  Peja Stojakovic - Jamal Mashburn - Carlos Boozer - Tristan Thompson - Mehmet Okur

I think KG will welcome it with little complaint, PP likes to play when he's able to so he might not like it as much, but towards the end of the season I can see him being ok with it.

J kidd is a fool.  The greatest Coach in NBA history, Doc Rivers, ran these two mid 30 guys into the ground almost every game and we were fine,  This is madness! ::)

Umm no one was fine with it, just didn't have many serviceable options, especially for KG.

People forget to, KG is going back to his position with the Nets.  We all said moving KG to center was a mistake because it was going to wear him down, with the Nets he will play PF primarily meaning less banking down low.  I think that will help him out a lot.

Kidd is not a good choice for a team like Brooklyn where you have 7-8 high quality players to manage.

How do you know? I don't think there's any way of knowing what Kidd will be and how good he will be.

If I had to guess, I'd say he's going to be better at managing those players than older coaches who didn't play. I don't know that he'll be a good coach, but I think if he's likely to have one good skill, it will be the ability to manage the players. I bet he struggles more with the X and Os and rotations--the coaching stuff.

Its why they brought in Lawrence Frank. Coached Kid years ago. Will run the D, and give insight to Kid. Plus KG and PP can pretty much coach  them selves any ways. Its just a matter if they will all be on the same page.

Plus he pretty much was a coach at NY the last couple years, he just got to play once in a while.

I think he has a decent chance of doing well this year. Maybe a slow start, strong finish?
