  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
I'm really happy that there is so much good talk about our new coach, and how he is analytical, loves team play, and focuses a lot on defense and hard work.

Are there any weaknesses in his ability, though? I've yet to see one stated, other than the occasional bashing simply because he isn't well-known or is too young.

Stevens has been compared to Thibs a bunch. Well, Thibs plays his players to the ground - is there something of concern we should watch out for Stevens?

If not, great. But I would like to get a better perspective on the guy. It seems like everyone at least likes/feels impartial towards him, for the most part.

We don't know.

That's the biggest negative in my opinion.

Lots of question marks.

I do not see any positives. I do not have any personal issue for this guy as a person. Might be a great guy, but in my opinion he is in wrong place. This "coach" is a kid. Zero NBA experience. Zero experience to drive a big sport business such NBA. Zero experience to manage a group of 15 professional players, among them you have multimillionaire stars…But is not Stevens responsibility why he is hired, but who put him in this position.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

For me, it's two-fold:

He's never had to deal with big egos.
He's traditionally squeezed every second out of the college shot clock. How does he fare with 11 less seconds per possession?

Not sure there is such a thing as NBA ready when it comes to college coaches. Is a big change. He really values watching his players mature as people on and off the court. Often Players seem to regress at the pro level, so don't know how he will deal with people if they start to tune him out.

I agree.

Danny Ainge, however, has been doing such a good job building our rebuilding roster.

Imagine Shabazz on our roster instead of Olynyk. Stevens already has Rondo to work with. Our team as is has many hard-workers and humble players. Bradley, Green, Sully, and Olynyk are all great foundational players for Stevens to work with.

TP for Danny for making Stevens' job much, much easier than it should be for the typical college to NBA coach.

We get it. Give it a freaking rest.

You hate Ainge and want him fired. Can you keep it to one thread?

Also, it will be interesting to see how much respect he garners in the locker room.

11 less seconds to play defense. It cuts both ways.
