I have not heard alot of ppl on here wanting Greg Oden..He should come cheap, maybe a one year deal. He has some interest teams out there but i think one of these teams will sign him:
Boston
Miami
Cleveland

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Unfortunately, I think Miami lands him. They can sell him on the fact that he can use the regular season to rehab and condition. They would only need him for Indiana and Chicago in the post season. We obviously cant feed him the same line and I doubt we're willing to give much more than Miami would.

Miami has vet min to offer I think. We can offer more in terms of money but as far as getting a ring Mia is his best option b/c right now we may not make the playoffs (even though I think we can still make it with RR, Sully, and Green healthy b/c only a few teams will be good).
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Maybe since Boston is now on plan rebuild he would be more interested in coming here on a cheap 2 year deal to try and maximize his minutes (if healthy) setting himself for a nice payday when his contract runs out.

I don't see how miami woyld ever be the front runner unless

-Oden doesn't care about playing
-Just wants a ring
-Doesn't want money
-doesn't care about being an after thought on the team
- Being one of the least important players on the team.

Miami or other title contenders make zeron sense. He needs to have coaches and trainers who can spend all their time and effort on him after him not playig in 3 years.

He needs a no pressure situation.

He needs a place where he can play as many or few minutss as possible.

He needs a place where he has more of a voice and can dictate what he wants.

I don't see hoe Miami or another title contender can attract Oden when their  main goal is winning a championship, not catering to Odens needs

We kind of tanked to land him or Durant didn't we? Well here he is! Give him the most money of those 3 teams & take some risk. 3yrs. 20 million. 4mil in yr 1, 6.5mil in yr 2, & 9.5mil in yr 3. With the last 2yrs being our team option to escape from it or pay it going forward. But we being the state were are in now would need to take a BIG chance & if he turns into Ohio State Oden again that contract is a steal!

Why wouldn't Oden play? They don't have a decent Center. Joel Anthony? Birdman?

Oden would be very significant as the starting center. If Oden is healthy, he will start in Miami. If he isn't healthy, Miami is unquestionably the more entertaining team to watch from the bench in a suit.

Oden should go to the cavs or Boston.  If he choose miami, then we'll know he had no intention of coming back as a great player.
If the guy feels he can go back in shape, boston is the best landing for his career. Plus in a rebuild process he can make some noise pretty fast. At 25 he can do it.
Low risk high reward for rebuild.

I don't see Oden starting in Miami even if he is healthy. He'd be playing the Birdman role, as the Heat work best with Bosh and LeBron at the four and five (with Shane Battier guarding the four on D).

maybe rondo can help recruit, having a pass first point guard doesn't hurt, we are up against the tax the most we can offer is 3-4mill currently, would be an expensive move for wyc

I think Bass coming here was a Doc move.
Danny will get rid of him in the summer for sure.
I think Boston will clear some ap to prepare for the next moves in 2014.
Not to mention that you don't give few millions to Oden on his first year. That would be stupid.

I would love to have Oden on here and I don't see why Miami would be the front runners. I am almost sure that someone who has had that much hype around him before would want to be more than a role player. He'd want to prove that he can start, and that he wasn't a bust. Going to Miami pretty much solidifies his "role player" status. What Oden needs (and probably wants) is a situation where he can 1) boost his value to set him up for a big payday and 2) reboot his career to go on an all-star path his career path which he clearly has the potential to be. The role-playing ring-chasing option will always be available to him later on anyway.

That said, I think Boston would be a great destination for him to establish his value. But I guess he could also realistically go to a fringe contender and try to put them over the top. But I still see him better off with a "bad team" coz it would be the situation with the least expectations. If he needs to rehab mid-year, a rebuilding team can be patient with him. A fringe contender can't afford that.

I agree with Boston  would be better situation for Oden  if he is try to revitalize his career and that what we sell him on . Nut if he is looking to just coexist and be an backup on Miami bench then that we're he should go but I belive he wouldn't do all that hard work to just sit

I also heard the Spurs were looking at him. Out of all of those teams, if I was him I would want to play for the Spurs. No pressure to perform (a la Miami and Boston), no fast tempo breaks (Cavs and Boston), and most importantly, a deep front court (Spurs). He would be behind Splitter and Duncan depending on the team and opposing line up. If you ask me, its a win win situation seeing the stability of the franchise with its Coach and players.

Greg Oden, who "hopes to be physically ready by training camp"? Nah.
