I just don't want to know how he got his billions. IMHO Russian Billionaires don't usually have clean hands.

and of course most american millionaires have hands that are squeaky clean. ::)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

  • GOT IT!!!
It was a desperate trade by the Russian. I could see them finishing 3rd behind Miami and Chicago but that's as high as they get.

Two years ago they were the NJ Nets.   They were lousy.
If Boston had acquired Deron, Lopez and Joe Johnson,we would be talking about winning it all.
Instead, we are simply jealous.  Brooklyn is built to win it all.  They can add a couple more small pieces.
JJ and Pierce will be lethal.  After all they played together in Boston.
Gonna be fun.  One defensive athlete away.

I'm not jealous. I love KG and Pierce but I don't see them getting Brooklyn over the hump. Not sold on the pieces around them in crunch time.

That's hilarious. Oh, and of course also presumptuous, therefore worthless.

The kicker to me is that it seems like every time I get my own hands dirty trying to make money, all I get on payday is a line of BS, ensuring that by boots get dirty, too!

Take it easy, guys.  I don't think the US history books tell the true story of Russian oligarchs.  We don't mean to offend...right?

Nothing says humble opinion like suggesting the presence of ill-gotten gains.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I'm upset KG and Pierce were traded, but I'm glad they were traded to Brooklyn because I grew up there and still live in NYC, so I will get to follow them and go to a bunch of games as our C's jockey for ping pong balls.

Here in NY, the media already has them ahead of the Knicks, and Knicks fans are definitely shook. I truly believe they will be title contenders should Kidd not falter and they stay healthy (not only KG and PP but also Lopez and Williams).

I think by the time training camps open and their roster is filled out, they will have A LOT of hype behind them. There bench isn't even that bad as is, with Terry (who I am sure Kidd will know how to use better than Doc did), Evans (KG + Evans is a beastly defensive tandem), and Blatche (above-average backup PF). All they really need is a defensive wing with size, and I'd expect their mini-MLE to go towards that need. A backup PG I'm sure is on their radar as well, but Terry, JJ, and PP can all run an offense if need be.

I think had Paul and Kevin made their way there sooner, they probably wouldn't have hired Kidd and went after someone like Karl (or Phil?), but I think the addition of Lawrence Frank should expedite his transition from player to coach.

This team has the potential to be great in both half-court offense AND defense. That is the recipe for playoff success.

Blatche was a really nice piece for the Nets off the bench last year. On paper, this bench is pretty decent too...Evans, Blatche, Terry and Korver. Not much defense coming off the bench, but whatever - well rounded. A shooting specialist, rebounding specialist, Terry can provide a spark scoring and Blatche can do a number of things.
