What it be possible to send Pierce and Garnett to the Lakers in some sort of Dwight Howard deal? Since KG and Pierce can no longer go to LA Clippers.

Would love to see a lineup of Steve Nash, Kobe, Pierce, KG, and Gasol. Possibly the best passing lineup in the league.

Then Celtics could rebuild with a real center finally. Have Rondo, Bradley, Jeff Green, Sullenger, and Dwight Howard lineup. Would get 20+ boards a night from Sullenger and Howard. Jeff Green could finally spread his wings, and Rondo would have a Center he could help get 20 points a night.

If it comes down to LA losing him and they do a sign and trade they're going get something better than old aging vets in Paul and KG

I'm picturing that group sitting next to each other on the bench 10 minutes into the game, sucking on oxygen masks in unison while the reserves toil away.

I wish, but doubtful.

Like someone else mentioned, if the Lakers decided to S/T Howard, they could probably get a lot more than just two old guys in what is likely their final season of basketball.

I hope not. I don't want that headcase anywhere near the Celtics.

Dwight Howard will never be a Celtic.  And with the new CBA, I'm glad.  His max contract will break a team by year 3.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I think LA would at least have to think about this. They would have two excellent opportunities at a championship before completely starting from scratch. When they have cap space again, they will be able to sign whomever they choose. I hate the idea of KG and Pierce in a Lakers uniform, but it seems reasonable for both teams.

Not because we are trading with the Lakers, but because I don't want that clown in our team.

So you think they would want a nucleus of Kobe, Nash, Pierce and Garnett for the next two years?  You know the point of the season is to play basketball and not reshoot the movie Cocoon scene for scene, right?

NBA is not allowing any trades between clips and celtics until next season is over.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Ainge said the league mandated that the #Celtics and #Clippers can not make a trade this season.

Oh wow. Must of been a Stern ruling
Guessing so their can't be a precedent of trading coaches as well as players
