Any chance Danny can get Mike Krzyzewski?

With the News of the C's wanting a coach that's "presidential", any chance Danny goes after coach K?


Now this is something I would LOVE to see. Great at developing youth, has coached stars in the olympics .

Him or Larry Bird would be amazing.....

Coach K has Proven he can win when given talent that far exceeds that of most opponents.  I don't think he is all that special of a coach.

Not to mention that if there's anyone who has nothing to gain and everything to lose by taking a head coaching job in the NBA, it's Coach K.

Best coach in the business, hands down, college or pros.  I'd be thrilled.

Never gonna happen, though.  He'll never leave Duke, and he did, there are better jobs than the C's.

He didn't want the job when we had Bird and was still in the top of the Atlantic and a playoff contender. Why in the world would he want the job now? He'll never depart from Duke and he shouldn't.

As for Bird, no way. He coached the Pacers because they had a shot at the title. We're not even close. And would he like taking orders from a former teammate that played under him in the 80's?
Add to the fact that he's almost a God in Boston and can't walk around without people bothering him (something he hates) and I see no reason he would come. Unless it's to run the team.

One guy is throwing mud at the wall saying we are looking for someone presidential. Another guy throwing mud says we are lokking for someone yiung and cheap.

I don't believe any of these news outlets with sources. Everyone has something different and everyone is usually wrong or 2 years late.

To me coach K is probably the best coach in basketball right now regardless of the level. I don't think he would take the job though.

People should stop thinking that the Celtics head coach job is a highly sought after position right now.

Whoever the next head coach is, he'll go into the job knowing he's a goner within the next few seasons.  Such is the reality of a rebuilding team.

Don't think that's true.

Danny stuck with Doc through thick and thin.

Its fair to say that anyway NBa coaching job comes with a lot of pressure and is based on reults. But I think the Celtics organization has shown far better dicipline and patientce than most other organizations and clearly rewards success more richly than any other organization.
I think it should be a pretty atteactive destination.

Moreso than the freaking clippers. Who knows what's going on there

Coach K? I assume you mean George Karl which I would like to see. However he is old and commands a high salary ($5+)

There is no chance of the Duke coach ever leaving before he wants to retire or they carry him out in a box.

I can't imagine he would ever leave Duke and why should he?  He's treated like a god there and has so much control over the program which is consistently one of tops in the nation.

Do college coaches ever succeed at the professional level?  I can only think of two.  Larry Brown (who has had his share of failures as well) and Jack Ramsey (though that was a much different era).
