Thought about it yesterday and now I think we should go after Big Al. He is a 4/5 who can score down low and grab rebounds, IMO he is really the type of player we need.
That's Sullinger in a nutshell, though, right? I mean, that's precisely Sullinger's skill set. Isn't this the year that you try to develop Sullinger into a new Al Jefferson on the cheap rather than going out to get the full-price model?
No? Sully is undersized for the Center position. I mean we've seen him be able to bang against the best centers, Hibbert, Noah, and especially Tyson. But who knows how well he'll do against them? I don't know. I really do hope we can grab J-Smoove and Al Jefferson, but I'd rather have us get DAJ at this point. He can be a better rim protector, and work on his defense. Whereas Jefferson improved his defense, but is still a terrible defender regardless.
we do not want big al. period. we traded him for a reason, because he's fools gold.
Thank you - the constant mention of picking up Jefferson around here is baffling to me, especially since I haven't heard one peep about management being interested in him.
A guy who puts up numbers but doesn't play D, has barely even made the playoffs, and was basically given away by the last team that signed him is a huge stayaway to smart management. Monta Ellis is pretty much the same situation, and I can't see us pursuing him either. We're a lot more likely to go after Millsap than Al, and we'd be a lot smarter to do it.
