KG to the Bulls makes a TON of sense. They would immediately be favorites for next year. Think they should do it. Not fussed about what we get other than the pick, but getting Humphries would be GREAT. He's an asset as a rebounder and expiring deal. He's for big value for a contender.
The only problem with the reasonableness of the deal is: would the Bulls be willing to give up a lotto pick that could end up being very high in 2016 for what is most likely a 1 year rental of KG? I'd say no.
They want to get out of Boozer's contract, but he looked pretty [dang] good in the playoffs, nothing amazing but he was a very solid, effective and stabilizing presence for them. Of course KG is an upgrade, but the improvement isn't worth the Charlotte pick especially if KG only has one year left in the tank.
If the Nets are willing to include a future first or Marshon Brooks in the trade, the Bulls might be willing to take the 1 year of KG and downgrade their Charlotte pick for a future pick or Brooks (they do need SG help).
I think Chicago should include that Charlotte pick because they are getting the best player in the deal AND shedding a huge salary that they desperately want to rid themselves of.
But IF they were adamant on not giving that pick up, I'd take a 2014 1st and Marquis Teague.
Yeah they are getting the best player, but they are most likely getting him for only one year. And yes they want to move Boozer's contract, but the upgrade of KG over Boozer isn't enough to warrant a lottery pick being included.
The nets are actually getting a pretty good upgrade from Humphries in Boozer so if they can include a first and/or we include something (maybe the option to swap firsts down the line).
That way Chicago are getting the best player in exchange for decreasing their future draft pick. The Nets get an upgrade over Humphries for a pick and the C's move KG for a worse player, but get compensated with the Charlotte pick. Works all around.
If I'm trading KG I think there is a chance to get a lottery/midround pick at least from a team (if KG is willing to go to that team) so I'm not interested in back end 2014 picks like Chicago's. 2014 is a great class, but that rarely extends past the top picks. After that almost every draft is hit or miss.
