This might make getting Jordan in the KG trade that much more valuable. We can offer the Kings a replacement big who is decent along with other pieces. That is assuming they want a big in return to replace Cousins.
bingo
jordan, terry and other pieces but keep sully, rondo, green

I'd offer Jordan, Bradley, and a 1st round pick or two.  You could also offer Jeff Green if they want to unload some more salary (e.g. Hayes / Salmons).

I'd definitely take a shot on Cousins.

The guy has the kind of building block talent that you hope to be lucky enough to get in the draft. Yes he is a head case, but the only reason talent like his is available is because he comes with risk.

If we could flip Jordan, picks and one of Sully/Bradley for Cousins we would be seriously vaulting ourselves back towards contention.

We keep Green and Rondo happy since we aren't going into full rebuild mode and we have a  crazy young team that will be fun to watch.

Yes it could be a train wreck, but so could our responsible rebuild plans. I'd rather take the chance on talent. At least it will be fun to watch.

Move Jordan and picks for Aldridge.
Get Cousins through a trade of whatever players are left.
Sign Josh Smith outright or get him in a sign and trade.
Move Jeff Green to 2 and Josh Smith to 3, his original position.

PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Jeff Green
SF: Josh Smith
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
  C: DeMarcus Cousins

This is the ONLY reason I would accept gutting this team to acquire a vastly overpaid, very limited center - if he can be spun for a foundational talent like Cousins.

I highly doubt he's the next Howard or Shaq.  But could he be the next Zach Randolph or Rasheed Wallace?

I think so, yeah.

agreed... not a max player!!!!!!

No.

Portland isn't trading Alridge for Jordan... They want to get rid of JJ Hickson..

Josh Smith/Cousins are viable options, but I wouldn't put Smith at SF... He's proven he can be a good PF albeit undersized, but still dominant.

I don't think Sactown offers it to him. Some team will but I don't think it's them. I think they've suspended him more than once and I'm sure Big Cuhh isn't all that happy in Sactown anyway. I think he's playing that max deal game to get out.

I would love for Danny to make a run at him tho. That would be a great start to moving on from KG if that mess with tha Clippers go through.

Do you guys really want to give Demarcus Cousins a max contract?

Cousins averaged 17.1 points and 9.9 rebounds a game last season, shooting a respectable 46.5 percent, with an All-Star level PER of 20.2.

His age? 22.

Imagine if we could flip Paul Pierce, and someone else for Josh Smith. He'd make up for Cousins weak defense.

Rondo/Shooter/Green/Smith/Cousins.

You're telling me that can't contend in a year?

I love Cousins and have been a supporter of the Celtics trying to trade for him for a while... While his stat lines are outrageously good, he does NOT deserve a max contract in anyway shape or form. He is a head case waiting to happen, Dwight Howard mixed with Lebron James. Notice how the Nba's MVP gives up during games? Cousins would be ten times worse.

Still I try to find a way to get him to bean town and hope he takes a discount to play for a better franchise.

Cousins was 32nd out of 42 in shooting percentage among players 6'10" or taller who started at least 30 games.  48-50% would probably be what would be classified as perhaps below-average but still respectable.

Yes, it was supposed to be a joke.

If Danny can find a way to get Cousins to pair with Rondo and Green then I can stomach all of the vile things that are happening right now.  Cousins and Enes Kanter are going to be the most dominant centers in the league in 3 years.

Let's remember that "max" for a guy coming off his rookie contract is not the same thing as "max" for a guy coming into his second contract.

He'll make Roy Hibbert money.

Yep, exactly.  I have faith that this is the sort of thing Danny has in mind, long-term.

All these numbers go up dramatically when Rondo is passing you the ball.
