Stern's messing with both our franchises. You guys are mad at the clippers for what reason, cause they're trying to get a good deal? your franchise has been doing **** like this forever. it's called negotiating.

I don't think most of us are mad, just tired of the whole thing by now and would like it over with one way or another. We all know our team is moving on to rebuild this summer, and with the draft coming up soon and Pierce's buyout deadline, it would be nice to see what direction Ainge is going in with his rebuilding plan instead of sifting through countless rumors of a trade that is apparently illegal according to Stern, who failed to speak up about such illegality while the two teams negotiated on the deal for weeks. Go figure.

finally someone that knows what he's talking about. I think clipper fans for the majority feel the same way. We just want to see this situation end, either happens or doesn't happen. imo the clipps are okay either way

this deal is dead, danny is back to square one

Well that's awfully definitive. Got a link?

sterling is cheap, it was hard enough for him to pay doc 7 mill, now his going to give picks aswell? think you might see flying bacon first

Ah, ok,  you don't have any actual, you know, evidence that the deal is dead.

And, yes, I agree with you that Sterling is a cheap owner.

Are you seriously trying to justify that the Celtics should be giving Doc to the clippers without any compensation?  Give me a break.

wth do picks have to do with sterling being cheap or not? the clippers dont want to trade the picks because they might need them, not because they're cheap. if they were cheap they wouldnt be prepared to offer doc that 7 mil deal, griffin a max contract and cp3 a $100 mil plus deal.

ok sterling is the most generous owner in the nba  ::)

okay, nobody is even trying to say that. but saying not giving up the pick is sterling being cheap is just not right. and what does generosity have anything to do with this? he should just feel like a nice guy and give celtics the picks? so the celtics owner is also a huge d. bag cause he's wanting picks for rivers, instead of being nice and just buying him out? lol wut

it's called negotiating. Ainge isn't forced to do anything. It's a business

It looks to me like Herr Stern wants the two deals to be separate and distinct.  KG for DJ and a first, and Doc for a first in a separate transaction.

Did Sterling send you to lurk on our home page and forums to defend him every time something is said about him?

no, only when some complete bs is said about him. is he a dirtbag? of course he is. has he been known to be cheap? yeh. he hasn't been cheap for a few years now, and my point is the clipps not giving picks has nothing to do with sterling and being cheap or not.

the only way ahead is if the players association gets involved somehow on the side of kg, cause the veto in effect causing him to retire. bit of a stretch, but i could see the mlb players union doing something if bud selig tried to do something like this.

NBA ready to veto any Rivers deal

Stern told ESPN Radio in New York that the league would not approve that arrangement because Rivers’ inclusion violates the collective bargaining agreement and that the multiple trade scenarios are an obvious circumvention of league rules.

“The teams are aware that the collective bargaining agreement doesn’t authorize trades involving coaches’ contracts.”

“If you think those, at this point — having been all over the media for the last week — are separate transactions … I have a bridge that I would very much enjoy selling to you,” Stern said.

In a separate ESPN radio interview, Stern repeated that the NBA was aware of the possible end-around plans and ready to act if a final proposal involving multiple trades came to fruition.

“I would say that if we know that what the parties really want to do is one [trade and] they are going to break into two [trades] for purposes of trying to avoid the restrictions that the collective bargaining agreement places on it, we know how to deal with that as well,” he said.

Rivers should fill suit to this obvious restraint of trade, don't see how the players and the league have the right to restraint his movement when he wasn't a part of the negotiation(the cba) in any way nor he was represented

also coaches have been traded before for compensation who stern to decide how much compensation a coach is worth anyway

Sooner or later Chris Paul will put out a contract on Stern, no jury will convict him.
