We really need to get rid of terry's salary

PG: Rondo    / draft pick
SG: Bradley  / Lee
SF: Green    / Draft pick
PF: Sully    / Bass
 C: Jordan   / Melo

*have picks 16 and 25 this year (or maybe it's 2014/16?)

really hope the pick is next year

Can we mak that that Lee's please?

Terry:
1. Was our 4th most productive player last year
2. Has value as a mentor (championship experience)
3. Is a shooter/scorer (we need scoring)
4. He has has the ability to play backup PG (helpful)
5. Only has two years left on his contract

Lee:
1. Was horribly unproductive last year
2. Has no history as a winner
3. Gave us almost no offemse last year
4. Can't play PG
5. We're stuck with his contract for three years

With KG, Pierce and Doc going as well as Rondo injured I would like to keep at least ONE active player with championship experience who can be a leader on and off the court to the young guys coming in.

Age is a moot point because Lee's been in the NBA long enough to prove that he has zero upside.

Or better idea

Boston Sends: KG, #16, Doc, Pierce
Boston Recieves: #2, DeAndre Jordan

LAC Sends: Their 1st round pick, Bledsoe, Jordan
LAC Recieves: Aafalo, KG, Doc

ORL Sends: #2, Aafalo
ORL Recieves: #16, Clippers 1st, Bledsoe

Then separately

Boston sends: Pierce
OKC Sends: #12 + Fillers; Else trade with Dallas?

Regardless two picks in the top 15

Draft Nerlens Noel...either flip #15 for a pick next year or take the flyer on Shabazz

Rondo/Shabazz/Green/Jordan/Noel

Tank easy as we let Noel and Rondo recover

You just traded Pierce twice.

I'm also curious as to the fillers that OKC has that can equal Pierce's $15 million salary.  Kevin Durant?

we got rid of perkins corpse for a reason. why would we want that albatross taking over our salary?

Why is it so urgent for a rebuilding team to cut salary? Especially with the floor at 90% of the cap.

we wouldn't.  notice i used the word corpse. i was saying thats a guy that could match salaries for pierce in that dudes trade.  obviously, no one wants that to happen.

If we can somehow get Josh Smith on this team with say a pure shooter like J.J. Redick or Kyle Korver. This will be a tough defensive team.

Rondo- When Healthy
AB
Green
Smith
Jordan

I don't see why either.

We're not getting Bledsoe either in this trade. Ugh.

Edit:

On the bright side, look at how Houston got James Harden:

Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb, two first-round picks and a second-round pick to OKC.

Harden to Houston.

Cole Aldrich, Daequan Cook and Lazar Hayward to Houston.

Really wish/hope Ainge got Bledsoe. Would set up for a trade like this. But, still, plenty of picks and young assets means flexibility.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

We still had aspirations in the 2012-2013 season; are you not counting this year as part of the Big 3 Era?

The Big 3 Era ends when we stop trying to win the title with this core group and start rebuilding.
I like Marcus Smart

Well, this'll be it then.  Sad to see KG go but probably best for both the team and us.  I'll root for him and Doc and maybe Pierce in LA next year.

Wouldn't surprise me if Danny has plans to flip at least one of those picks.  Most likely for Josh Smith or Millsap in an S+T deal.  More of a retooling than a total bottoming out.

I dont think he'll flip it, I think this is the beginning of  his attempt of moving up in the 2014 draft.

no i don't
the big 3 are pp kg and ray

is this the end of the KG era? sure

I think a lot of our failures last year had a lot to do with trying to relive the 'big 3'
paul pierce was a shell of himself. kg was on his last legs. jet was not ray allen. lb wasn't ray allen. lee wasn't ray allen. but we continued to run those ray plays and play like we didn't have anyone else on the team.
didn't see success until we started pushing the pace and putting the ball in other people's hands. reverted end of year/playoffs

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Thought this would happen, although i was pretty peeved when the Clippers called it off the first time.
Cp3 has the power & hes demabded that the front office get him some help.
Kg gets a shot at a ring, pierce joins him and doc gets to go with em.
Great result fir us.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

so what was KG saying when he said he wouldnt be an all star this year

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/kevin-garnett-says-definitely-last-star-game-declines-155515422--nba.html

“This is definitely my last All-Star Game,” he said. “Ya’ll don’t know what I know. I’m more than grateful, and I’m not going to act like I have more All-Star Games in me. I’ll enjoy this one with friends and family. That’s what I meant.”

Did he know he was being sent to LA? The deandre jordan chatter began around before the trade deadline as well...did danny tell him privately that he was for sure trading him?
