Don't understand this narrow idea of there's no loyalty....If KG wanted loyalty he wouldn't agree to a trade to the Clippers....he wants a championship and he knows it won't happen next year with the C's. he's showing his loyalty to Doc by agreeing to a deal if they can work it out. And i think Doc and KG are looking to help Ainge by agreeing to this possibility...they get to go for another championship and they leave in a deal that brings back assets.
I think they both will ultimately retire with the C's....I think it's all good...nothing about lack of loyalty...
I think there are a lot of factors here.
If Ainge came out and asked what KG and Pierce wanted, I think it's pretty clear they would like to try one more time. If they were on board, I don't think Doc even thinks about leaving.
But Ainge doesn't care what Paul wants to do, or if KG wants to stay. He wants to blow this up, and that is why Doc wants out, and KG would follow, and presumably Pierce isn't far behind.
