Stop overreacting about Doc

We can all admit that we don't know anything about this situation,but if this stuff was really "made up" Doc could end some of the heavy talking by sending a simple text like "The reports are inaccurate" or some mess like that.

When he was asked through text message, a week or so ago,about whether he'd return to the team and his response was "I'd rather not say" pretty much left the flood gates open for this type of banter.

Unless Danny is driving all this.

For all we know - and we literally don't know anything - Danny could have initiated the whole idea of trading Doc in order to get the 'KG for Jordan & Bledsoe' deal unstuck, given that KG has a no-trade and KG has stated he would not play for another coach than Rivers.

If that is the case, then Danny would not want Doc saying a darn thing to the media until everything is settled one way or another.

For all the hate on Doc for not just 'killing this drama with a simple statement', KG could also have killed all this drama at any point by just adamantly saying, "No."

KG holds the ultimate card that could kill this deal.

Woj reported that he's willing to drop the clause, but KG really doesn't have to say a word. Why would he? He's not about to openly talk about this situation when Doc hasn't made the move to do so. He's following suite. Plus, during the off season KG likes to disappear from the basketball scene. So getting a quote from KG will not happen.

The point is that there is a double standard at play.   KG is not expected to give anyone a quote.  Yet folks are jumping all over Doc for not giving them a quote.

And my point is why would he even speak on Doc coaching the Clips even if he's involved? Why would he comment on a potential deal that could very well not happen. That's the front office job and the C's PR department's job.

He only commented during the trade deadline because it was getting out of hand. He's always stood firm on only wanting to play for Doc, so during trade deadline he wanted to put the rumors to rest.

Also, my entire premise of Doc speaking up was if the reports were just rumors. If it's true then he and Ainge are dealing with the way they see fit.

Wouldn't want to damage your rep as a great coach by coaching a bad team and your record reflected it.

Always the funny thing to me about how NBA coaches are regarded.  The team/players are looked at as a separate issue.

A lot of Celtics fans have scoffed at Phil Jackson's pursuit of Red's records because Phil would bail on a team as soon as it wasn't a championship contender. 

In any event, I understand why Doc is doing it from Doc's standpoint but I would like to know what the true story behind it is.  If it's really to avoid a rebuild, then I think it's a bit disingenuous.
