Woj says they want to do deal by Monday...as in today???

of major concern...looks like Boston has let go of Bledsoe...
I don't like Bledsoe much anyhow -- not good enough to be a starter, and adding to an already crowded list of backup guards.

But sure, I'll take Griffin and Butler for Garnett and Sullinger. Will even gladly let go of Pierce by the end of the month so that he can join the party in LA.

Clearly I'm in the minority here but I think we are making assumptions about why Doc is looking at the Clippers job. It could be something as simple as working in the same place for 9 years. Why wouldn't you want a change of scenery? The Boston media makes 9 years of employment look like 30. Before the Big 3 came about Doc was the victim of a lot of hatchet job articles and the only fair shake he got was from McMullen and Ryan. Why isn't Theo looked upon as a quitter in Boston? He was just tired of the media and ownership. I really think people should use their heads when trying to assess this instead of taking the easy way. The easy way being..."Doc is a quiitah, we should fire him anyways" "let him go to TNT" or hire a scrub to tank.

TP.

You may not be in the minority. I for one have been staying away from these threads precisely because I think they're full of completely unfounded accusations based on nothing of substance.

I think there are probably a lot of people like you, who are perfectly willing to sit tight and see how this all plays out, and then make a judgment.

Unfortunately, the board has been taken over right now by a small but vocal group who are bashing everyone and everything in sight. I think it's pretty immature, to be honest.

Anyway, just thought I'd weigh in on this, because I think we need more people like you giving us the voice of reason.

Wow, it seems that the deal is going to happen and we are not getting Bledsoe. I know I should wait until we see the exact details but I will be furious if we let KG,PP and Doc to Clips and all we get is Deandre Jordan and couple of late 1st round picks. Even if we get rid of Terry I think Clips win this trade by a mile.
Btw, Jordan has a 15% trade kicker which means that he will earn 12.6M and 13.1M in the next two years. He is a bad contract not an asset.

right
both sides have to compromise. Danny's no fool.

I think Danny will talk them into a better player than Bledsoe that we haven't even thought of (like a J. Craw), and then we give them one of our longer contracts

Jordan ,2013 and 2014 first round picks , Clippers must take back Lee and  Terry for Butler.

1. You can't trade 1st rounders in consecutive years.  So it would have to be 2013 and 2015.  I think I'd rather take 2014 and 2016 because the '14 draft is supposed to be loaded.

2.  Jordan, two picks and unloading Lee and Terry for Butler is a pretty decent deal ONLY as long as Pierce is being traded to someone other than the Clippers to bring back more assets.  Something like Pierce to Cleveland for a future first.  There's no way Ainge can essentially trade KG, Doc and Pierce and only get back Jordan, a couple of picks and some salary cap relief.

according to SAS...sounds like danny wants blake griffin or jordan/bledsoe package..nothing less than that for kg/rivers & possibly pierce
LOL no way in hell they give us Griffin, I'm so sure "ohh you don't wanna give us Bledsoe--how about CP3?" I wonder who this other piece is maybe Danny trying to dump Lee and Terry to make it work?

There obviously had to be a comprimise concerning Bledsoe.  One option I thought of is if Danny wanted Bledsoe so bad, include Sullinger as sweetener?

I think the Caron Butler deal for Cap relief is good, but can we get them to throw in Willie Green?  If Terry and Lee leave, we will need a SG and he is signed for 3 years at only $1.5 mil per.

string Doc along for about 4 weeks ,  then fire him ,  after DH. and CP3 deal is done somewhere.

further more his heart is NOT in Boston , and he admits  NOW he is reluctant to rebuild the Celtics team.

So in my mind he is stalling for another paycheck  anyway , he doesn' t really want back, he just wants the secuirty and paycheck .  Wyc...mull over his situation ,  allow the Mega stars to sign , then axe him hard .....boot him out the front door

send him off to broadcast land to explain himself .....poor Doc "cry me a rivers,"

Hire a coach who is interested in development and building another team . Doc is obviously not the right choice.   He is a wet nurse , not a coach. aka ..Phil Jackson.

I can't believe that either side would let this thing fall apart over Eric Bledsoe.  Swapping Caron Butler plus Willie Green for Terry and/or Bass or something like that is probably OK as well (I would actually like to keep Lee).

I wonder if they need to get this done before the draft?  Certainly they need to get it done before June 30 so they know what to do with Pierce.

TP for making a pun that has been around for years and was never a particularly good one to begin with? Bah.

Also, I'd like to see where Doc has admitted that he's reluctant to rebuild. Because I can surely demonstrate him "admitting" exactly the opposite in 2011:

Quote
"D&C: Here’s the other thing — at least I assumed about you, Doc — is you wanted to compete for a title every year. You obviously had a taste for it with this team and you didn’t want to go back to the Orlando days of rebuilding. Well, isn’t a five-year deal, isn’t it inevitable that you’re going to be overseeing or you’re going to be coaching a rebuilding team. And are you looking forward to that?

Doc: Well, I don’t think anyone’s looking forward to that, but I’m willing to do that.I had a group that has been very loyal to me. I think it would have been very easy for me to just run and go somewhere else and chase something else.

Who says that we still can’t [reload] with free agency and adding the right pieces? While our Big Three are getting older, we have to add the right supporting cast to them. In that transition, hopefully we can still chase what we want.

It would have been easier to do it the other way; I just don’t think it’s the right thing to do. Coaches talk about loyalty and team all the time. I just thought it was time to show it. And that’s what I did."

The season wouldn't be awkward or anything...

I don't know how he can comfortably come back to a team he is trying his best to give up on.

I agree completely.  This whole thing has left a real bad taste in my mouth. I want no part of doc after this debacle.  Go broadcast or whatever the hell it is you want to do because you made it evident here is not where you truly want to be.

and i don't see why Danny would want doc bac. Why pay 7 mil a year for a coach who isn't committed to the players/organization, and clearly doesn't want to be here.
His overrated as a coach anyway.

I suspect that Danny knows Doc a bit more intimately than any of us.   They've been close for, like, forever.   If he brings Doc back, it will because he believes Doc will be committed to the job.

If you wait until after the Clippers make their selection in the 2013 draft to officially make the trade, you can trade the draft rights to the 2013 selection plus the 2014 pick.  I would also want the 2016 pick because it wouldn't shock me if the Clippers find a way to be in the lottery by then.
