Almost impossible that you can get rid of all the above four players without taking on salary.
Pierce would still have five on the books. KG would likely be a buyout and have some money on the books. The cap is at 58 million. At best we would have 53 million in cap space with just Pierce's 5 million.
Howard and Paul are each commanding around 16-18. Smith is commanding 13-15. At the lowest Paul (16) + Howard (16) + Smith (13) is 45 million. So you have 13 million dollars to fill out your roster and bring in at minimum 10 guys.
The only way this happens is if there has already been an agreement in place, like in Miami, for all three to join forces in Boston.
Doubt that has been the case. And again getting rid of Green, Bass, Jet, and Lee's contracts without taking any salary back is a loooooong shot.
