I want absolutely nothing to do with a 7 footer who thinks he is a shooting guard and is allergic to the paint.

Bargnani would be a disaster in Boston. No way I give up Pierce for him. I don't even think I would give up Bass/Terry

Agree.  There's no part of Bargnani's game that I like.

Exactly.  People need to look at his stats.  For his career he's a 7 footer who hasn't even averaged 5 RPG!!  He's not even as good as Bass and makes ALOT more money...

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I think I'm the only one here who really like Bargnani's game. Even so, I think I won't want him here. He's not the 7 footer we need.

Not the big man we need. If KG is out then ok we have a case for him but not if KG is back.

So you really like a big man that averages less than 5 RPG for his career while averaging 30+ minutes?  I like his outside shooting but there's nothing else in his game I like.

His offensive skill set is what I liked. I have seen him at his best and he can score with the rest if the NBA when he's focused and engaged. He was near all star 2 years ago before inuries hit.

He is a terrible rebounder, I know. But I like his game.

Still, does not say I want him to play for Boston, as we dont need him.

Wow, I had forgotten that he was the first pick.

That 2006 draft was just awful. Really bad.

It makes it all the more amazing that we snagged Rondo at #21.

I hate him as a player.   Soft but a skilled shooter who spreads the floor.  I do not think he compliments KG well.   Who needs a 7 footer who thinks he is a SF and can't guard anyone.

Please do look at his stats. He had an awful year this year, but over the four years prior to that he averaged over five rebounds (just). Yes that is awful for a 7 footer, but he also averaged around 17-19 points per game.

His game doesn't match up with KG's very well at all, but he has far more upside than any player we would realistically be able to get for Bass/Lee/Terry. Bass isn't a stellar rebounder, nor does he score at will and he is a jump shooter to boot. We have a log jam at SG and Terry and Lee were both fairly disappointing (although I think Lee just underachieved and can bounce back).

As somebody else mentioned we are going to be hamstrung by the cap for the next few years anyway and no one we could trade bass and lee for has more upside than a guy like Bargnani. I'd be happy to take a chance on a guy like that and hope somehow he turns it around because to have a real chance we probably need a miracle given that we can't bring in a difference maker via FA and our core is about to cash in its pension.

If we can get Bargs AND another piece like Ross, Gray or a pick I'd jump all over that if all we are sending back is our trash.

His playing style fit is all wrong, but at least he could provide some offence and being 7 foot occasionally a rebound should bounce off his head and into his hands.

If we are running it back we are a team of limited options unless we are willing to give up anything of value. At a certain point I'm ready to bet on talent (which he has, even if you haven't seen it lately) for guys who seem to be lost out there.

I guess it all depends on where Danny decides to take this team, but I don't understand why people are turing their noses up at a guy who has had some very solid seasons in the recent past when all we are giving up are players who most Celtics fans have been complaining about all year.

Am I missing something? The Kings dumped Thomas Robinson...and maybe he is broken goods...but why would the Raps give up a lottery pick in a very good draft?

I'd be fine with Bargnani for Bass and a guard. They send out their losing culture, we send out our glue guys. They improve their culture, we potentially get the last bit of talent we desperately need.

So, yes, I agree with you on that point. Why the hell not if we're ridding Bass and one of our twenty off-guards.

I'd do Terry and Bass for Bargs and a second rounder.

Having a stretch big who can also drive to the basket a little can be an enormous boon for your offense.  What Bargs needs is a team where he'll be expected to play as the 3rd or 4th option offensively and where he'll be next to a top-flight defensive big men at all times.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I would target him if i was LA in all honesty.......

Gasol

In return get Bargs Ross/Derozen first round.

Dantoni gets the stretch 4 he covets so much. Drags a body out of the paint to let dwight go one on one.

Get some instant offence in Derozen/Ross that they could use coming off the bench. If its derozen, play him in the 2 while kobe comes back then onces he is back send derozen to the 3 and have metta come off the bench

plus you get a pick in the draft that you dont have a first round pick in

Toronto gets a legit PF and go to dude in the post to pair with Lowry and Gay

Lowry
Derozen/Ross (depending on who they trade)
Gay
Gasol
Valancuinis

Not a horrendous starting 5, probs wont do much gives them a chance to land the #1 pick in wiggans

All of this is going on whether or not Dwight resigns

If i was kupcheck id run the idea past him to gauge his response
