I do think his aggressiveness in the P&R is something that Rondo should emulate, would open up his game.

Parker also has a willingness (and ability!) to shoot the 18 footer in the pick and roll if the defense goes under it.  It's easier to be aggressive attacking the hoop when the defense is on your hip or behind you.  It's harder to attack when your guy is right on the other side of the pick waiting for you.

It's been said a million times, but Rondo has to take that shot to really be a threat in the p&r.  In my eyes, he had recently shown improvement in his willingness to take it and he has to continue progressing in that area.  And continue improving his accuracy as well, of course.

I think Parker is the best PG in the game right now, yes. 

In general, I think Parker is (or was... he's getting his due now) very underrated by the average fan, while CP3 is very overrated.

I sign on with this view 100%.  CP way over rated.  Tony Parker the best point guard in the NBA this year.  Who knows about next year...

He's certainly the most successful.  If I had to pick any point guard to lead my team in a playoff series, it would be Parker.

Skillset-wise, he's top 5 (not even sure top 3) but the kid really seems to step it up come playoff time.

Eh I'll take him over the obnoxious consensus that Chris Paul is gods gift to point guards but the publicity Tony Parker is getting right now is prisoner of the moment talking head drivel

He finished 5th in MVP voting in 11-12 and 6th in MVP voting in 12-13 (he also has a 8, 9, 12, and 15 in the past).  I don't think this has anything to do with prisoner of the moment stuff, I think it is just that now the fans are finally starting to catch up to just how good Tony Parker is.

That said, Chris Paul finished ahead of Parker in MVP voting each of those years (as well as ahead of him in the All NBA voting) and is a better PG than Parker.

I've always been a big Tony Parker fan.  I think that what he's doing right now bodes well for our young point guard.  Tony Parker (while there are clearly some differences) reminds me more of Rajon Rondo than any other elite PG in the league. 

As far as Parker not getting the recognition he has deserved in the past, I think the issue there is similar to what has gone on with Rondo.  Parker has historically been seen as a support player for Tim Duncan rather than as a lead dog.  In an NBA environment where so many fans are conditioned to look at great teams and pick out "that one guy who leads them," great players like Rondo and Parker often don't get their just due.

Unless Chris Paul suddenly retires, Tony Parker is not the best PG in the leauge

Two things against him that makes him not the best
He cant be effective if he doesnt score. Everything is predicated on his offense. He's basically a more mature and well rounded Westbrook
Also he's not an excellent passer. If he's not scoring, he cant effect the game nearly as much. Just like last year. The Thunder keyed in on stopping Parker from scoring, and he was basically shut down for the whole series, which in turn spelled doom for the Spurs

There are games when Paul, Rondo, or Williams can score 2 points and still be effective. Parker doesnt have that in his game

As great as a season as he had and as continually underrated he is, I just dont know if I can give him the title of leagues best PG. He has been crazy consistent over his career, can hit great clutch shots, scores on his own, facilitates, and plays well off the ball. Maybe it is because he isnt as flashy or isnt such a marketable name that takes me away from thinking he is not a top the list. I also think that he fits the Spurs system perfectly and that is why he is excelling so much. If you put him on another team does he plays this well for them?

Heck I dont like CP3 and think hes overrated, maybe that makes Parker better than him. Rondo isnt as trusted to score as Parker...So maybe my new top four changes; Parker, Paul, Rondo, Westbrook?
