How is that such a bad deal?  Seriously.

Would you give up Avery Bradley and our #16 for Noel

You would, they wouldn't and would fall out of their chair laughing at this proposal.

I would say that his doesn't really qualify as a rumor, because you just made it up, but, well, that's how all of the ESPN rumors start.

I'm in. Here's the rumor mill story:

Celtics and Bobcats talking draft-day trade?
A reputable source close to Charlotte tweeted this morning that the Celtics and Bobcats could be kicking the tires on a draft-day deal. "I know a lot of people in this league, and not talking about packaging the #16 pick and Brandon Bass for a lottery pick is not something that the Celtics wouldn't do," Stephen A. Smith later told Ryan Russillo on ESPN radio this afternoon, "Now I was having dinner just last night with an executive who told me that Danny Ainge might be the sort of GM who is definitely without a doubt trying to trade up in the draft.

I am almost tempted to set up a bunch of Alts on different blogs' forums and then paste that in verbatim.

If there are any franchise changing players that fall in the lottery this year, then yes the Celts should definitely jump at the chance.

With the Bobcats, let's not forget they've drafted very high the last few years and it still hasn't gotten them anywhere.

Not even Jesus can help that franchise.

If we want the top pick in this draft, we have to give up Rondo. There is no other reasonable asset we can offer that would get it done.

No way bobcats take bass and picks for the first pick, and if they did I'm no longer sold that I would take Noel. His weight and Injurys scare me.

If there are rumors of the Bobcats moving back I'm curious as to what they are looking for. If they don't have faith in the players at the top of the draft maybe they are looking for a mid pick this year and a pick next year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Maybe they want Doc. We can dream, can't we?

I strongly suspect that if there is any truth to this rumor, it involves them using their first round pick as a way to get rid of Tyrus Thomas.  How much are you willing to give up if you have to take back Thomas, who makes $8.7m next season and $9.4m the season after that?  Is it enough to make Charlotte think a trade is better than keeping the pick and using the amnesty clause?

For those who mentioned the Stepien rule, the easy work-around is for Charlotte to make the pick then trade the rights to the pick in a deal that becomes official after the selection is made.

Jesus will probably only enter the draft, after the Bobcats have traded their pick.

How about PP for Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas and the Bobcats' #1 pick??

I HATE Gordon and Thomas, but this could change our franchise's future.

Seriously. The ludicrously disillusioned overvaluing of our players has to stop. OP, I feel bad for you. You'd probably be the same person who would say no to a Sullinger for LMA deal.

People fall in love with potential. In this case it goes for both side of the fences.

Rondo's worth more than the #1 pick in this draft.  that's overpayment by the C's.  none of the players coming out this year figure to be as good as him so it's a bad deal for the C's.

It all depends on the draft year.  next year's draft for instance, with Wiggins and Parker, would most likely require the C's to give up more than Rondo for either the 1st or 2nd pick.

not a fan of it.  PP for the pick is ok I guess but we're getting no help from Gordon or Thomas on lousy deals.  Gordon isn't better (more consistent) than the other SGs we have and Thomas isn't as good as Bass right now.
