I lliked what Vogel said. That's what he should have said and I like his mindset going into this series. He's letting it be known him and tha Pacers will not fold to Miami. I wish more teams would take that approach against them. But this should be more about tha media being tha media. They asked Lebron a misleading question.

But even tho tha media asked him what they wanted to, Lebron's comments to me were more about how great Miami is. He's defending his team as he should be but I feel he's sort of feeling himself more than being aware of what Indy can bring. He shouldn't sleep on them because tha Pacers can beat them. They're hungry right now.

i like what Vogel said. Thats the type of approach any team should be taking against any other team, why should Miami be any different. If you play them like they are the best and can't be beaten, then you will loose.

Im sure Indy is preparing for them, they would be dumb not to, but why would they give Miami the satisfaction of telling them they think they are a great team.

Miami still needs to prove they are the best team, anything can happen in the play offs. Last year the old broken down C's took them to the limit and almost pulled it off.

I think Lebron now expects it to be handed to him since he won it last year. But I don't think it will be that easy. They had some troubles against a injury ridden Bulls team, now Indy is a bigger team than Miami and could give them trouble, and if the Spurs get in and they do to, they may have trouble against a REAL team that knows how to play the game. Its far from over Miami...

Vogel didn't say anything wrong at all. What was he suppose to say? That Miami is the greatest team ever and that they should be lucky to even  win a game against them. Some people wonder why we call Lebron LeEgo, this is a perfect example on why we call him that.

I don't mind. LeBron is an athlete first, and not the most intelligent one. That's just a fact.

The media takes some words out of their context, presents them in a way that might be interpreted as disrespectful to an academically challenged person, and surprise surprise; "newsworthy" banter ensues.

It's all good. It's the playoffs. I dislike LeBron for a lot of reasons, but he can't help being a bit of a dummy.

C'est la vie!

Why did Vogel apologize for what he said nothing was wrong with it??

I enjoyed this insight into Lebron's mindset:

Quote
...you really don’t prepare for just another team.

Maybe that's why, to date, Lebron only has one championship.  Too little preparation, too much taking teams for granted.

I can't imagine Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, or Bill Russell saying it's okay to not prepare for a playoff opponent under any circumstances.

You're seeing something thats not there....and using it as an indictment on LeBron. Now we can criticize LeBron for a number of things..

Lack of preparation isnt one of them. When he says "another team"

I'm sure he's talking those 1st round 8th seed matchups. Or a team overmatched like the Hawks.

I'm pretty sure he prepared for the Celtics when they had the best record in the league in 08. I'm sure he was prepared for the Magic when he averaged 38/8/8. I'm sure he was prepared, but got owned by the Celtics in 2010. In 2011 it was more so him shrinking and Spo not being prepared vs. the Mavs zone.

We call out the earlier lack of mental toughness, flops, the travels, etc etc.

He doesnt have just 1 championship because he wasnt prepared. He has only 1 championship because the Cavs (LeBron by himself) couldnt get past the Celtics, Mike Brown got terribly outcoached against the Magic.

To me...the only championship he blew was the Mavs.

Still hate LeBron and the Heat  ;D
