Didn't a lot of fans say earlier in the year, "we need a nutcase on our team"? Prophecy fulfilled lol

You seem to be the only one to find this a laughing matter.

To each their own? I'm fine with laughing it off. There are aspects of this that made me chuckle too.

All good.

Here, this is what I'll say. If every person in the world who has been alleged of domestic abuse disappeared off the face of the Earth, the world would fall into by far the worst economic depression ever.

...

When this kid was 1-year old, was he destined to commit such a terrible crime? No. It was American society which led him to do so (imo) and thus American society must pay for his survival, even though he killed so many Americans.

Not to be mean, but maybe you should avoid current event threads.

I do agree with CC on one thing-- I don't see any reason why this should automatically mean dismissal from the Celtics or the NBA. I don't need my basketball players to be Rhodes Scholars or humanitarians.

Obviously when they are, it's a bonus, but the only real qualification I have for cheering is that they're good at basketball.

Perhaps this led people to think the wrong thing.

What I meant was that there are so many people in this world who have been alleged of domestic abuse and so many crazy people with guns. Terrence Williams is just one of many, and even though it's obviously a terrible thing to happen (I DESPISE it), it's all too common. Of course disciplinary action will take place by the NBA, or by the Celtics probably, but I don't think domestic abuse OR gun use is gonna stop anytime soon... and what can we do?

If anyone in this thread is actively fighting against gun abuse or domestic violence, great job, but for the rest of us...

???
???

I don't think he should be kicked off the team for this alone (see Bill Clinton comparison) and to be truly honest I really don't care at all for TWill's personal life.

I watch the NBA because I like to watch basketball.

(and above all that, no one confirmed anything here. Who knows if this is all true? If it's not true, then we're all gonna get the wrong impression of TWill forever)

likely won't be back next year, if he pulled a gun out.

Stupid decision. At least he still has China to go back to. Dim sum anyone?

First, I feel badly for him after reading about his background. I'm a psychologist in training and have a soft spot for people affected by by "risk factors," especially those out of their control.

This will seemingly contradict the above, but... hypothetically, if we assume the accusation is true, am I the only one that actually wants to see him stick around even more? If we are going to suck horribly for the foreseeable future, I'd like to have something entertaining to enjoy about our fellas. I greatly miss Perk, Nate, Delonte, Tony, etc. They were legends, and we were lucky to have them.

So, if it's true, your argument is that it's "entertaining" to have guys on the team who wave guns around in front of their 10 year old son, threatening to kill that child's mother?

We have different standards of entertainment, I guess.

I'll say this..

There are plenty of criminals in Congress, and the government has on occasion screwed us over.

Yeah this obviously wasn't the smartest thing he's ever done... But its basketball... Pretty sure Kenyon Martin has done worse, but who cares? I want to see him ball, so let him ball.

Make him apologize to the press for his actions if proven guilty, and at least get some positivity through the media.

Williams side of the story...

Quote
Williams, 25, had driven into the parking lot with his son for what was described as a visitation exchange, and was approached by the boy’s mother and her boyfriend. That’s where the story diverges.
According to a probable cause document provided to the Herald, the woman told police she wanted to ask Williams about “disparaging” comments he had made about her other children, but he refused to get out of the vehicle. She started banging on the hood of the vehicle, insisting that they talk.
The woman told police that Williams then pulled out a handgun and pointed it out the driver’s side window at her. She said their son stepped in front of Williams and she backed away as Williams drove off, waving the gun.
Williams, arrested later that night beyond the Kent city limits, admitted to police that he did indeed pull out the gun, but said he didn’t point it at anyone.
He told police that he felt threatened when the woman started kicking the front of his car after approaching with her boyfriend, adding that he sensed a third person approaching from the vehicle’s passenger side. He said he pulled out a handgun and, holding it to his side, briefly stepped out of the vehicle, then eventually got back in the car and drove out of the complex.
According to police spokeswoman Det. Melanie Frazier, police had yet to recover the gun.
