Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said Thursday he'll reach out to Kevin Garnett next week and he expects KG will play next season.
Between the trade rumors, injuries and the Celtics' struggles as a team, Garnett's been through quite a year. His potential return will be a huge part of Boston's offseason as Ainge attempts to rebuild the Celtics for at least next year and possibly the next five years. If Ainge decides to opt for the latter and blow things up, there's a good chance both KG and Paul Pierce will be playing elsewhere next season. It's going to be a very big and very interesting summer in Boston.

I've never thought KG would walk away for one second. I know he's got aches and pains, but how many out there can turn down that money to play basketball in the NBA at a high level???

That's how I feel anyway. I care little for legacies and going out on top. If I'd ever had any talent I'd never gone out the Elway way. I'd have gone the Rickey Henderson route, until escorted off of a spring training facility by security....

I expect so too. Highly doubt he leaves.

No way Rondo lets KG hang it up and the last time they shared the floor was his ACL injury he'll be ready to go

Good ....start

Fire Doc if he refuses to go big .No more sissy ball.

need  a GOOD BIG TUFF no non sense Center to ENFORCE the paint when KG sits.

Maybe Cousins ,  Plumlee , somebody   B I G  and don't mess around.  No sissy jumpers from 30 ft.....  NEED somebody who plays like Sully , but stands 4 inches taller.

Or   TRADE........ PIERCE, LEE, FAB MELO an DOC RIVERS   for   McHale and ASIK ;D

Put two and two together, unless Ainge is a total hypocrite, he's going to do what he can to trade Pierce and KG this summer.

He's right, this team is more than one player away, unless it's a great player, and right now the team has no flexibility to add more than one player, or to add one great player.

Huh. So should we take away from this that Danny will be looking to deal this summer? As opposed to just getting everyone healthy for one more run?

(Stop me if you've heard this before...)
