after hearing all those smith to celtics
it came to my mind that after watching atlanta vs. indiana..he is a bad shooter and can't even hit a free throws, while green is doing a good job on scoring
i don't buy on that rondo-smith teammates in high school
any thoughts?
who would you have on your team?

I wouldn't. Not only will Smith command a heftier price, I'm just not a fan of him. I'd get him on the Celtics if we could retain Green. Those two together, particularly if KG is still around, could be quite interesting on both sides of the floor.

Would you give up Pierce to get Josh Smith?

Depends on what else we include in the deal.  No way Atlanta trades Smith for Pierce straight up, though.

I was thinking a three team deal. For example, Pierce to Dallas with a trade exception heading to Atlanta and Josh Smith going to Boston.

I don't think Ainge would need to include much to make that happen. Probably a first round pick. I would be happy to give up a first to get someone as talented as Josh Smith.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Jeff Green only because Josh Smith will likely make twice what Jeff is now getting paid. I'd definitely take Smith if he was getting 12-13 per year though. Spacing with Rondo may be an issue to seriously consider though.

like j smoove,  but he just isn't driven like KG ,   Green can put up similar numbers I think next year for sure with tons of playing time coming his way.

At the same price , (GREEN) , I might take Smith ,  but no way is Smith worth a max contract.

So I stick with Green.......also ...Green don't need KG ...he has common sense ....Josh needs KG to help coach his attitude and play , shot selection more......so no KG , then no way I want Smith  ...unless he is all we can get.

Need a CENTER ...I might trade Green for a REAL CENTER ...hate to ..but this team CAN NOT CONTINUE TO PLAY NBA ball with BASS and Sully as 5's .....this has to change.

Jeff Green is a much more compatible player with Rondo than Josh Smith.

However, Josh Smith paired next to KG would be deadly.

Smith takes a ton of bad outside jumpers. Jeff Green's only bad jump shot are those rare "beat the shot clock" expiring type shots.

Doubtful. Depends on Smiths contract, but if he's making almost twice as much as Jeff - who just averaged 20 ppg in the series against NY - then NO!

No way would I do it.

Smith and Rondo are compatible they played high school ball together.   But I think we will need both of them to win.   One at PF the other at SF.

Smith is a free agent, Atl won't get much of a return for him in a trade.
