Given how many minutes Avery plays and how awful our offense has played as a whole this series I'm not surprised his PPP is that bad.
Just shows you how much the C's miss their primary ballhandler, forces guys into roles they're not used to handling. Its showing up in the crucible of the playoffs.
Why, in the Ainge/Doc era, have the Celtics consistently went without a true pg back-up for Rondo?
What's a true backup pg, and why don't players like Dooling/Cassell/Marbury fit the bill?
Robinson?
I'd say a true backup point is somebody who could start in place of your injured #1 point guard and actually have a chance to rack up 8-10 assists while not being a total offensive liability himself.
Nate Robinson is obviously capable of having really good games, but he's inconsistent and isn't worth much to a team if his shot isn't falling.
Still, I think Nate is probably the best backup point the team's had in recent years, all things considered.
FWIW, I think the team would have tried to keep Nate if they could have, at a reasonable salary. I don't think he was just a throw-in when he was traded to OKC.
