Chas: [limping off the diving board] I have got a really bad cramp. I've been having really bad cramps all week.

Jason Melon: It's probably menstrual.

Chas: Screw you, Melon!

Name the movie.  hint, AB has been getting 'schooled' by Felton

Given how many minutes Avery plays and how awful our offense has played as a whole this series I'm not surprised his PPP is that bad.

Just shows you how much the C's miss their primary ballhandler, forces guys into roles they're not used to handling. Its showing up in the crucible of the playoffs.

Why, in the Ainge/Doc era, have the Celtics consistently went without a true pg back-up for Rondo?

Keyon Dooling?

What's a true backup pg, and why don't players like Dooling/Cassell/Marbury fit the bill?

Unwilling to invest more than minimum contract salary slots for it.

Yeah, this.  You have to spend more money if you want a real capable backup to run your offense.

But it doesn't often make sense to spend that money unless you get a guy who can run the point for real and also play off the ball, since Rondo plays 40 minutes a game in the playoffs.

I really don't care what the excuse is, I just want them to compete tomorrow and not lie down..Knicks really don't fear them and don't care that they're the Celtics...Just play HARD.

I'd say a true backup point is somebody who could start in place of your injured #1 point guard and actually have a chance to rack up 8-10 assists while not being a total offensive liability himself.

Nate Robinson is obviously capable of having really good games, but he's inconsistent and isn't worth much to a team if his shot isn't falling.

Still, I think Nate is probably the best backup point the team's had in recent years, all things considered.

FWIW, I think the team would have tried to keep Nate if they could have, at a reasonable salary.  I don't think he was just a throw-in when he was traded to OKC.

That's an awfully tall order to fill when you consider that there were only 4 pgs in the league that averaged 8 or more assists this year.

I think AB is having problems on offense because he is not a point guard, regardless of his ailment.

On defense I believe his problem has been the difficult match ups. Raymond Felton is stronger and wider than Bradley and has used his size to ward off Bradley on drives. Jason Kidd has also given him problems, Kidd uses his veteran savvy to take advantage of Bradley's aggressiveness.

DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I didn't say average 8 or more assists.

I said "have a chance" to get 8 or more assists.

That just means that the player is a capable passer who can find other guys in their spots.  Not saying you need a master floor general.
