This team has been mediocre at best since the preseason. The deluded fans on this site have viciously attacked any rational criticism of this team all year which is a shame but typical.

We were had problems from the get go: No decent size up front, no back up center, KG playing kind of out of position. No legit back up point guard, a 35 year old undersized shooting guard who clearly had lost it last year was signed to add offense. A draft of a project and a potential great player who the team knew would need surgery this year. The team was relying on two players over 35 and a point guard who never been a consistent scorer to be their major offensive contributors. Yet everybody thought we would be the main challenge to the Heat.

Then the games started. Even during preseason games we looked out of sync, listless and a step slow. Then the real games began and the same thing continued. Sure, there were stretches of good play. The team suffered a rash of injuries, beat a bunch of mediocre teams and everybody jumped on the band wagon. In the end the team finished one game over .500 but the delusions continued. People convinced themselves that we just needed the playoffs and that we would start rolling. Instead we may get swept out of the playoffs for the first time in years. Not because the team does not play hard but because the team is old, slow and undersized and can not score.

Sadly we are going to start the rebuild now a year late with most of our "assets" with far less appeal. Who will want Terry? Lee? Could you trade Fab Melo and get value? Maybe Pierce or KG could get something but far less than had we moved them last summer or during the deadline.

We let ourselves be fooled into thinking we would have a chance this year. Had anyone looked at neutral party evaluations of our team we would have known better. Sadly we now have to learn the hard way. Like most lessons.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Because we are good enough to steal a game if not the series from NY.

Unfortunately outside of Green, everyone else played like they are not.
