This is really no news.

Before the all star game , remember what he said. "you haven't been through what i been through" or something similiar to that line.

He has enough money to never have to work. Another ring is nice but at least he has won it once, which not a whole lot of great nba players can claim they did.

It was sort of strange for me even to see KG sign a 3 year extension, instead a one year.

Also Pierce likely will be bought out, asked to have his contract re negotiated and he will just part ways.  Depressing as this all sounds, it had to happen sooner than later.

Remember last season when KG said he hears what people are saying about him and it motivates him. I hope Jackie Mac is just feeding him some bait here and he gives us a 22 and 10 tonight. Then we can all hear KG say " I work hard on my craft"

I believe she has zero record of errant reporting, including on quotes and with one so readily confirm- or deniable as on this from Doc.  And it is simple observation that confirms KG is a toothpick.

Anyway, very curious to know: what do you think will happen in the near future? (i.e. 1-2 years?)

I have a bad feeling the Rondo injury will be used as an excuse to run back pretty much the same group, even if KG does retire.

  Rondo or not they'd need to replace KG with a decent center if they had any hopes of being a strong team. I think it's just as likely that they get that center and try and bring back Garnett.

Is this yet another example of Jackie burying an inside scoop within one of her stories, or is this old news?  I don't remember anybody from the organization actually acknowledging that KG's foot issues were due to bone spurs, though it sounded a lot like that.

I'm pretty sure it's old news.  In early April, Doc indicated:

Honestly, he’s fine,” Rivers said. “It’s a bone something, a bone spur that just needs to relax and calm down. I think that’s what it is. It’s his ankle. If we were in the playoffs tonight, Kevin would absolutely be playing.

We likely lose this series, but KG does not retire.

He just decided last summer to stay in basketball.

Being a toothpick is a GREAT thing. He's not carrying extra weight on the frame & joints (a la Shaq).

How many bone spurs did surgeons remove from Avery Bradley and Ray Allen's ankles? I don't think bone spurs are gonna make KG retire. Simple surgery, good as new next year. Wait for Lil Swag to return. Regroup. Tinker. Dominate.
