Of course I I want Utah to win but I  zero faith they will , they have choked and failed to put the Lakers away playing awful ball , basically threw away the season losing all those games and letting LA back in..    Al is the last person I want in a Celtic uniform.  they have a losing tradition.

I have only a little more faith in Houston beating LA.

Yet they have a better record then the Celtics in a deeper conference.

The Celtics had bad stretches.

I guess the Celtics players must have a losing tradition as well.

The scary part is if LA beats Houston, the Lakers get the 7 seed and play SAS.

I hadn't even considered that. Houston will win that game.

Yeah Memphis/Clippers/Houston/Lakers/Jazz all have big reasons to play all out tonight.

Can't really ask for more on the last night of the regular season from a viewer's standpoint.

Yup, and four of those five teams are in action on national TV against each other.  It's like the playoffs are starting tonight.

Eh, kinda interested to see how the Kobe-less Lakers play over an extended period of time. I've seen enough of the Jazz

i want a kobe-less lakers nowhere near the lottery. let them make the postseason and lose. but...yeah, if they end up in the lottery, lets just say i wouldn't be shocked if they ended up with a much higher pick than they should have.

No, the Lakers missing the the play-offs is great. The best part of the Lakers missing the 2013 play-offs is that they don't own their own pick. There's no upside to the Lakers missing the play-offs. The only thing better would be their pick winning the whole lotto.

We all love Big AL, but maybe the guy is not a winner. :-\

I dont know. The Lakers are better than the Jazz. Hence, the better team would be making the playoffs.

Anyone who plays the Spurs, Thunder, or Nuggets first round is going to have a lot of trouble making it to round 2.

I'm confused as to why some people are saying the Grizz could still get the 3 seed. If the Grizz win tonight, and Denver loses, they'd be tied, but Denver won the season series 3-1. So isn't Denver locked into the 3 seed and Memphis the 5?

Concerning L.A., I'd rather see them miss the playoffs so there's literally zero chance of them winning the title—probably most of us are familiar with Dumb & Dumber, and I don't want the Lakers having even a 1 in a million shot at a ring this season.

And before everyone starts dancing on the Lakers' grave, let's remember that this is the Lakers—regardless of what happens to them this season, and regardless of Kobe's injury, they'll probably find a way to be potent again no later than two seasons from now. There's already talk here in L.A. of a Gasol-for-Love swap, which, in spite of Love's bad defense, would overall be a boon for the Lakers, enabling them to move forward with a great frontcourt pairing (presuming they re-sign Howard). They still have their amnesty option, which would free up some cap space, and L.A. is still the most attractive destination for most marquee free agents—so they could very well be positioning themselves for a run at LeBron in 2014. Don't think for a second that this is unrealistic.

that would be an extra sweet kick in the teeth for them wouldn't it  ;D

I just don't see how they don't get in though

They're locked in at 5 but could have HCA over the Clippers if they win and the Clippers lose.

Thanks for clarifying. Though it strikes me as absurd that a team could be the 4 seed but not have homecourt over the 5 seed. I wish they'd just eliminate divisions and award the 8 playoff spots to the top 8 teams in order of record.

Nope...not getting jobbed...simply should've won more games

That Cleveland game will haunt them for the whole offseason... jk the Jazz will have more things to worry about by then

I hadn't even considered that. Houston will win that game.

And we also would have a first round Harden vs Thunder match up
