If hes having trouble walking and driving then the injury is clearly more serious than DOC made it seem. What a shock there...This season is a complete disaster.

Quote
I have some issues with my foot. More from like the motion, if you’re pushing the gas pedal. It’s an issue. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t be out. But I am getting better. I’m going to practice today and Doc and I will have a conversation and make some decisions for the future. If I’m able [to play], if I’m strong enough and I feel like I can contribute, then yeah, other than that -- it’s all guts, it’s all grit. That’s pretty much how my makeup is. I’ve always been able to put mind over matter with certain things and then when I was unable to do common things like walk or get in my car or drive myself, then obviously that’s an issue. But other than that, I’m used to playing through a lot of different things.

The most important part, to me, was him saying "I'm getting better"......not ready to call the season a complete disaster, here.

You know they've got a medical diagnosis, and they clearly don't want him to say what it is--which is not a good sign.

He is saying that it was bad.
He is saying that if he can't do these things then he knows it is time to do something about it, which he has done.

Cut it out. KG said his foot is getting better. Even Ainge has said it. I would take that rather than him saying it isn't or nothing at all. Injuries have done this team in. But KG is coming back. His other nicks and bruises are healed. If he needs more games out to rest and get better then im ok with it. Don't know about you but I would rather take a healthy KG going into tha playoffs.

Some of you guys are so terrified about the real possibility of KG being far less than 100 percent come playoff time. So terrified that you're getting mad at me for simply posting the quote and saying his words aren't encouraging. Of course its getting better.

Hes been out for how long? The real question is how much of a chance is it that it swells up again? KG will be playing heavy mins come playoff time and it wouldn't surprise me AT ALL if it becomes a problem again and he has to sit out or play hobbled. Actually, Id be shocked if that DIDN'T happen.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I think he means he couldn't do common things without feeling pain, not that he was unable to do common things. Atleast, that is what I hope.

Yea, I saw the video and he said those things but the keys are, he said he's getting better AND he practiced! So, get well KG and take as much times as we can spare!

It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Yeah but remember he has bone spurs. Remember ray allen last year? He had days where he felt great and days where he felt horrible to the point he sucked balls in games and was borderline useless. I'm just saying, don't be surprised if his foot swells again in the future. Id go as far as to say you should expect it.

I'd just as soon not see KG on the floor until the playoffs, and whatever happens, happens.

I'd also not be surprised to see him less than 100% during the post-season, but that's the great thing about KG ... he's hugely effective at even 75%.

As long as he's not aggravating the injury I think he'll be OK, but I honestly don't expect 100%.

He's very good at listening to his body and doing what's required ... and nobody wants to be on the court any more than he does.

Thanks for the post, LS2! (TP)

I think a real concern regarding this injury ought focus on KG's long term future.  Does it encourage KG to hang them up for good if it's serious?  He might just decide to retire while he can; then again, KG is such a basketball stud his drive alone might further encourage him to play more so he can go out on his terms and not due to injury.
