As long as Mike D'Antoni is a head coach in the NBA, I can't really say that Wilt's single-game scoring record can never be broken.

Wilt had two seasons where he averaged 27 boards a game.  That is madness.  I didn't think Kareem ever put up a season over 20.  Russell and Wilt rarely put up seasons where they didn't at leave grab 20 a game.  Things were so much different in the NBA in the 50s and 60s.  So many more missed shots per game.

Not that Wilt & Russell wouldn't grab a ton if rebounds today, but there were simply many more rebounding opportunities back then.  There were a lot more shots being taken and the shooting percentages were way lower than today.

agreed, but I'd add #7 to that list as well. 1192 games (14.5 seasons) straight without missing a game is unbelievable, and with the injury rate seemingly increasing in today's game, no one will ever break that streak.

I'm really on the fence about that one.  That would be one heckuva an accomplishment.  Agreed that the likelihood would be extremely low.

Some of those seasons where Wilt and Russell had 2,000 boards in a season will never be sniffed again.

I've been thinking really hard on what those numbers were. Didnt Kareem also average 20 boards one season?

Both Russell and Wilt averaged over 20 boards per game in 10 seasons...Kareem's highest RPG was 16.9 in 75-76.

I'm curious to see who will pass Parish as the career leader in games played (1611)...the four active players who are the closest right now are Kidd(1377), KG(1320), Kobe(1229), and Ray(1214). I doubt Kidd, KG, or Ray get anywhere close to 1600, so I guess that just leaves Kobe.

There is NO way Kobe will... he will never stand scoring less than 20ppg. He said so himself.

Green had some pretty sleazy "games played" mixed in there, but yeh, that will be a tough one to break.  especially in this day of resting stars before the playoffs.  Preventive nights off are much more commonplace.

Haha yeah AC had some games were he pretty much said hello to the opposing team and then headed back to the bench.  I remember hearing Cotton Fitzgerald (AC's coach in PHX) comment about it, and he said he did the same thing for Randy Smith, who held the record before AC.

It's not on the list but I can picture Rondo one day breaking Scott Skiles' record of 30 assists in one game.

Another insane stat is Wilt playing 45.8 minutes per game for his entire career.  Dude was an athletic freak.

To add to the insanity, he averaged 48.5 mpg one season.  That will never, ever be broken.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Speaking of NBA records.
Ray Allen hold NBA record for most 3ptFGmade in a season with 269.
Stephen Curry has 236, with 8 games to play...Yesterday he made 7, he needs 4,12 in last 8 games to catch Ray. Annyone thinks Steph could make it?

I doubt it, especially since I think the Warriors will rest him for the playoffs.

Honestly if he wanted to Lebron could probably break just about every single player record.  I mean, if LBJ really put his mind to it, couldn't you just see him basically getting the ball at the top of the key every possession and just driving to the hole, getting fouled and going to the line constantly.  Again, he wouldn't do it, but I could totally see him do that and if he did I have no doubt he could top 100 points in a game and could probably even break the 50.4 ppg.  If he stays healthy I think LBJ will pass Kareem's point total as well as Parish's games total.

that said the most unbreakable record in basketball is Wilt's 48.5 minutes per game.
