Hakeem was unstoppable.
No asterisk.
The 2012 heat championship has a huge asterisk.

I can't for the life of me figure out how the '12 Heat could possibly have an asterisk...

Derrick Rose Injury
Celtics depleted lineup
Lockout year/short season
Refs

Do they get a double asterisk because Bosh and wade we're both nowhere near 100% in the finals as well? Seems pretty arbitrary. Injuries are part of the game.

Now a lockout shortened season does give you weird results, but.. The Heat were the best team, they deserved to win, they also beat the best the west had to offer.

**the team (OKC) that was able to beat the team (SAS) that was able to beat the team (LAC) that was able to beat the other team (MEM) as well as another team (UTA), and the team (LAL) that was able to beat another team (DEN) while beating another team (DAL), all of whom were able to finish with records higher than the rest of the West teams! :)

I personally thought that the Spurs were the best team last season.
But this season it's the Heat no doubt, but the Spurs is a close second.

I thought the Spurs would have it as well, but OKC proved them second best in the west pretty emphatically.

Not at all. And not just saying that just because i'm from Houston. But out of all teams to question concerning championships, why this one? Are you gonna question tha Bulls championships when Magic was away? Just because Jordan was away in tha 93-94 season doesn't mean tha Rockets championship win was a given. What about when Jordan came back that following year when tha Rockets won again?

Any team can win in any season and any team could have won in 94 and 95. There were other great, competitive teams around. Houston was just one of those great, competitive teams that came out on top. After struggling in previous playoff appearances, they rebuilt around Hakeem Olajuwon, brought in a great coach in Rudy T, and made history.

that was the height of MJ's career... he was on a roll and I do not believe that the Rockets could have stopped him if he had not 'retired'.

Now coming back the next year does not count because he was hardly in BB shape, and as I keep saying even he knew that by not wearing #23 until the following season in which he again led Bulls to the first of another three in a row.

The one championship that truly deserves an asterisk is 2002 Lakers. The Kings were absolutely robbed!

Oh cut it out. Jordan was in shape for most of his career if not all. He stayed in tha gym. The man dropped 55 against tha Knicks his fifth game back. He worked his way back into rhythm, not shape. As far the Rockets stopping him, that's a debate for another day but they definitely wouldn't have been a pushover.

And your only line of defense for tha G.O.A.T is tha number of his jersey? He would be disappointed in you. Jordan could have and would have won with any number. What you have to say about Kobe when he changed from #8 to #24? He won championships with both numbers. A jersey number is really irrelevant. He came back as #45 because his original #23 jersey was retired. Also 45 was his number with tha Barons and his brothers number in HS, so he had ties to that number.

To wrap this up, I think Jordan had a fairly decent return to tha NBA. He came back to a team that lost Paxson, Grant, Cartwright, and Williams but still finished 5th in tha East. A jersey number might change, but not necessarily tha player.

so what happened those years when #23 was around... why didnt Rockets get one?

Jordan had nothing to do with the Rockets not winning the title. How many times were they eliminated by the Bulls?

I will never consider Jordan in the same class as Russell, Bird, and Magic, because he never faced a legitimate threat during his career. He could have done so by playing the Rockets during those two seasons, and if he had beaten them then he would have been in the class of Russell, Bird, and Magic, but missing out on those two years really cost him in his legacy and cost the fans a truly epic matchup imo. We will never know who would have won that battle, but neither team would be guaranteed to win, it would have been a great matchup.

Simple answer...No.

You could come up with an asterisk for every NBA champion if you really want to grasp at straws.
