I don't see that as horrible footwork either. In fact, the first person that I saw consistently jump off the wrong foot is Nash. Sometimes that "wrongness" catches the defender by surprise because it's a bit unorthodox.

I do wish Green developed a pullup jumper because sometimes the help defense is there, waiting for the charge, and he still attacks. Not only does it become an increasingly more difficult shot, but makes it more likely to get called for the charge.

I disagree with the disagreement that Jeff Green does not have bad footwork. (I know there was an easier way of explaining that but, this one sounded better. haha).

Jeff Green has very bad footwork. I never realized how bad his feet were until this season, since he is playing now.

I feel he is limited on the perimeter offensively because of his poor footwork. He can't really turn the corner or break a player down off the dribble if you give him the ball on the perimeter.  If you watch, esp. if its at the of the key, he'll back up almost to the half-circle and then go in to a move. he needs that space for his strides and momentum to get by guys, because without that space, he cant get by guys using his feet.

That's why he takes those extra long strides, and why a lot of times, after a shot at the rim or after his drives, he falls on the ground. Jumping off the "wrong" foot, can put you off balance and in awkward positions for the landing.

Thankfully, Jeff Green is athletic enough, skilled enough, and has shooting touch and a variety of moves, to compensate for the poor footwork, (and ballhandling). I have confidence however, that he will comeback next year better having worked on one or both of those things.

Everyone in the building except for Jeff Green knew that LeBron was taking a jump shot on that last possession. I certainly knew it in front of my TV.

I am at a loss why we ended up giving him an uncontested jumper. I understand that you want to respect the drive, but for crying out loud...


Also re: Jeff Green. It's amazing how many points he scored on the dribble-drive, given that he's got exactly 1 (one) dribble drive move.

35 points on 35 shots...oh Jeff...why didn't you...what? contest the jumper? like...what in the world. LeBron had MAYBE 2 jumpers that day go nylon. I'd give him that shot whole time.

maybe 3 or 4 times in this game did it not result in him getting to the line.

i really dont get this line of thinking. EVERYONE on this team is a jump shooter. we get p---ed off at it.

and then we get a guy who's starting to consistently get to the hole, gets 43 points off it against the DEFENDING CHAMPS and we want him to...turn into Paul Pierce or Jason Terry.

I do not see the infatuation with having a bunch of the same types of players on the same squad. Jeff Green was getting to the hole and drawing the foul...how many and-1s did he have in that game? lol

Woah, settle down, buddy. I'm not saying I want him to be a jump shooter. I'm saying that he needs to do a better job in identifying the help defender and subsequently taking what the defense gives him. This means passing to the open man or pulling up for the short pull up jumper, instead of barreling inside. Reggie Lewis is a perfect example of a player who attacked the basket, but also had a lethal pull up jumper. If Jeff Green, with his size, length, and athleticism, develops this it would take his game to the next level.

i do not care who reggie lewis is. i don't care who paul pierce is. i don't care who anyone else is. jeff green has his style of play. if that's pulling up on the wrong foot, if that's driving to the right. i'm not sure why we are questioning this.

now if you said something like he needs to find a move to get him back to his right, which he so dearly loves, i get that. but this whole notion that he needs to be other players, and that after a 43 point explosion we want him to...pass out for a jumper...when he's the only guy being aggressive is nuts.

i also understand that line of thinking if his shot is not falling. but jeff green was the hot hand.

but people (not just you) are still nitpicking his game.

We tried going to Jeff Green for two possession in a row at that point, and he was closed down both times.
