I have no stats to back this up, but you all saw tonight's game against the heat.  For the first time since 2008, we had two legitimate scoring threats on the wing, at the same time and the heat couldn't contain both of them at once.

If they went to double Green, Peirce got open and made shots.  If they kept Lebron on Peirce, Green was a matchup nightmare for whoever they put against him.  THIS is something I want to see more of!

I think a new starting lineup with Bass subbed out for Green would further elevate us to the top level team that we know we can be.  We would have our best defense and scoring in the starting unit, as opposed to just defense.

Will Doc make the change?

I'd like for him to give it a shot. That is all I really have to say about it.

I agree with this completely

Green has earned his way into the starting lineup and Bass just needs to warm up the bench.

I was actually really impressed with the Celts tonight, regardless of the loss

I also think regardless of the loss that tonight the Celtics gave Miami a scare they won't soon forget.

To play this well without KG was very impressive.

Boy I hope we see them again in the playoffs.

Against teams like Miami, who don't have a good PF, or a least a traditional PF, Green does seem to thrive.

Against teams with bigger front-lines, he's usually at a disadvantage.

It does seem however, when Pierce/Green start together, good things happen.

Whether JG starts or comes off the bench, henceforth, he deserves 35-37 minutes per night. Moreover, he should be featured more on offense. JG should no longer be treated as an auxiliary part.

Green should absolutely start not only because it means fewer minutes, hopefully, for Bass but because it creates a huge offensive mismatch for Green.  When Carmelo and Lebron get designated as power forwards, they're still guarded by small forwards because guys like Haslem, Battier and Shumpert don't draw much offensive attention.  That's not the case with Pierce.  Teams are still going to put their small forwards on Pierce.

Green has improved defensively against bigs even in the post but even if he gives something back on defense, he's more likely to eat opposing PFs up offensively and/or force the other team to sub in someone smaller.

TP.  This is exactly how I feel.  If doc feels good about bringing green off the bench fine, but then leave him in there.  He is young and has shown that he can handle the minutes and produce when given the chance.

Also love having Jeff and pierce in the game together.

YES.  I have been posting about starting green ALL season.  Not only should he start, he needs to play WITH pierce AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

but also start KG and start wilcox/bass.  Lee should tear it up off the bench, love the guy, but when Pierce and Green are on your team then THAT is your ideal 23 position attackers.  PERIOD.  MAKE IT HAPPEN.  wow.

Love the team, bleed green and start green please thank you and FINALLY.  Look at my posts, I have been saying this all season.  Can't wait for the playoffs.  Love these guys

Maybe they could start Bass and bring KG off the bench when he comes back.

That would have sounded funnier if the Celtics had held on for a win tonight.

more touches for green, slightly less from KG considering how his jump shot has been off lately.

green driving in should open up KG

My favorite lineup all year involved Pierce and Green on the floor together. I dont know why its taken 66 games to figure out that its a good thing.

Green and Pierce on the floor gives us more options Offensively and Defensively.
They can both guard 1 to 4
They are both decent defenders
They can create their own shots
Good passers
Good finishers at the rim
Good shooters

I think Green in the starting line up will only benefit us.

Bass plays hard all the time, whether he plays good or bad, but he plays with effort. So I wouldn't mind him coming off the bench.

It's madness and it's even more annoying that it's freaking Bass standing in the way.  Since Bass doesn't provide better rebounding and defense than Green and actually less in the latter, the only reason I can think of is because Doc thinks Green strengths the second unit.  First off, because he's better offensively against PF, much better as his dribble drive game has improved, he strengths the starting unit more.  And secondly, the Celtics have a strong bench even without Green.  There's Terry and since Garnett sits so much in the first and third quarters, he's used like a bench player too.

This team is dynamite defensively and below-average offensively.  Green at PF next to Pierce improves the offense without negatively affecting the defense.  I just hate Doc.

Give DA credit for envisioning Green as a player who could match up with small ball PFs like LeBron and Anthony.

You have to give DA enormous credit for seeing what so many did not.

I have been a Green support since the trade, but I will admit I was starting to doubt him at times this year.
