Haha.  This is such a ripoff.  Cleveland wouldn't even listen to this.

3 team deal?

Classic.

CB trade proposer: "I think we should trade crappy Celtics player X for player Y, who is far superior, on some other team."

Sensible response: "This deal is crazy, the other team would never even consider it."

Still-deluded trade proposer: "It would work if we somehow found another (unspecified) team who would trade us their great player Z for our crappy player X - who we could then flip for some real talent."

Mmmmmkay.

Yep, gotta love celticsblog trade proposals

It's one of those "I traded a paper clip for a house" stories.

Maybe if we trade Bass to a 3rd team for an incremental upgrade, and subsequently move the player we acquired to a 4th team for another incremental upgrade -- and then repeat this with all 28 other teams -- we can eventually end up with Varejao. ;)

i'd rade brandon bass for wally szczerbiak at this point. arguably the worst rotation player of the big three era.

So, you'd rather have Mikki Moore?

tooshay. i'll say that brandon bass is the worst player playing 20 plus minutes for the team of the era.

REBOUNDS

STARTING FIVE

Hey Krook,
all reports indicated before Verajao went down that the Cavs asking price for him was really high.  Verajao has been outplaying the value of his contract by a wide margin which makes him a valuable piece for Cleveland. Rumors had it that they were looking for top of the line young players/draft picks in return for him, otherwise they'd just keep him and let him ride out his contract.  I'm guessing not much has changed, even with his injury.  So unless we were to put together a package of very tantalizing young players/draft picks (which half of C'blog is convinced we don't have, and the other half overvalue) I think the chances of getting him would be extremely thin.

Bass on the other hand has been the biggest disappointment on the team for me personally this year.  Honestly, he's starting to enter that Mark Blount territory for me where I'm swearing at the TV when the ball touches his hands and it seems he's overly prone to making bad decisions/turning the ball over every time he gets it.  It's clear from every statistical and visual appraisal of his play that he's struggling, especially compared to last year.  So I doubt there's much we could get back for him at the moment, let alone a player who was averaging 14 and 14 before he was injured.

I just don't know that we realistically have the assets to acquire Verajao, and if we did, we'd probably be giving away too much in order to land him.

That's just my two cents.

The 2011-2012 version of Jermaine O'Neal?

There are only 17 players (and 43) who have averaged 20+mpg in a season for the Celtics during that period (not including Oliver Lafayette's 1 game for 22 minutes).  I'd guess he is among the best if you took the worst players who fit that criteria for each team over the same time period.

I don't think that I have ever commented on the silliness (that's the kindest word that I could come up with)of a thread, due to the dumbness of many threads that I OP'd but, man.....

OK, strike that....I've never officially commented on the silliness of a thread.

P.S. We as Celticsblogggers have viewed this over 900times. You gotta be _____ing me.
