The Celtics sought MarShon Brooks, Mirza Teletovic, Kris Humphries and two future first round picks for Pierce.

The interesting part for me is Brooks. Regret for not drafting him?

None.

He's just the one of the few prospects they have on their team.

I still don't think that would have been particularly good value for Pierce, since those picks will be in the 20s.

NJ should have bit on that.

I'm pretty sure we DID draft him, but he was sent to NJ for JaJuan on draft night. We DRAFTED MarShon..

Also Humphries wouldn't even be available to us for the playoffs this year. He's on record stating he will put his career on the line to go through the whole messy divorce with Kardashian. Which is slated to take place during the playoffs.

I wonder if Danny had any interest in Bojan Bogdanovic, or if he even came up in conversation.  Marshon, Bogdanovic, Humphries, and two 1sts is semi-fair value for Pierce, imho.

as part of a pre-arranged deal with the Nets.  now that they have a real shooting guard, Marshon isn't getting the court time.

I think they offered Brooks as part of every trade they were rumored to be looking at.

Teletovic is a Ryan Anderson type player, rebounds and 3s. That is what he does.

It's difficult to label him as a bad player. He really hasn't had a chance to play.

I read in a couple of trade-deadline articles that GMs around the league believe that both him and Brooks are very underutilized.

He was great during the Olympics. He did alright during the preseason, including dropping 18 on the Cs one night. However, Avery Johnson never played him. Now Carlesimo only spot plays him.

Maybe he's not an NBA caliber player. However, it seems that the Nets aren't interested in player development either. The Nets seem to only want veteren finished products with proven track-records, JJ, Wallace, Blatch, CJ Watson, Bogans, Evans, etc...

It would not shock me to see either Brooks and/or Teletovic traded and flourishing next season.

Mk

PS. I firmly believe that if Nellie still coached Golden State and Teletovic signed there instead of Brooklyn, he would be averaging 16ppg 8rbs and 3 3s per game.

I think Danny was looking for relatively low-ball offers for Pierce just so he could get Garnett to sign off on the Clips trade.

Agreed. Lowball offer, but not as bad as Kris Kardashian, Brooks and a one.
