I am not saying Rondo is not a very good basketball player, but with out him the Celtics keep it simple, they move the ball more and everyone is more involved and in a flow.
This should be a wake up call for Doc to keep it more simple because sometimes  other players look lost when Rondo is playing.

How did I know that I was going to wake up to a thread saying something about the Celtics being better without Rondo. Think about what you're saying. Any team that has the best point guard in the league is miles better with him then without him.

I will agree that the ball movement last night was much better. I dont think it had anything to do with Rondo, we just finally came to play.

I think the other players, especially the reserves are too conscious of sticking to the set play that they forget about the aim, which is to get the ball in the hoop.

Hopefully this couple of games without rondo allows them to play with a bit more freedom and play more relaxed basketball on O.

man I knew these threads are here

but for HOW LONG...it's about consistency. Rondo controls the pace of the game consistently!!!!

one or two games where we play well without Rondo is not say anything.

Hell, 2010, KG was suspended for throwing an elbow at Richardson at the BOS-MIA game 1, and we blew the Heat out in game 2...were we better without KG?

Rondo needs to watch films of magic johnson.... he almost never slowed down a fast break. he also took advantage of the opponents respect for his court vision and passing ability. rondo or doc need to understand how to fast break and not slow down the game.

Doc is just not a very good coach

Playing portland leads to better basketball.

Our offense only scored an 102 ORTG last night.

Its not like we were crushing it offensively, even before garbage time. Instead we dominated them defensively.

I disagree.

If anything I think with the awakened team they'll be even more better when Rondo returns. Let's not forget Rondo can find open guys, if they stay aggressive, like they did last game, Rondo will find them and the offense will be even more deadly.

They played well without Rondo last night. It was a response to Rondo's message.

I said it before and ill say it again. We don't need rondo to handle the ball 95 percent of the time. We have alot of people on this team that benefit from having the ball in their hands and rondo takes that away from them. Not his fault, its docs.

Last night had nothing to do with Rondo. That was about Lee being aggresive and Green actually playing well.

This team is going nowhere without Rajon Rondo.

I'd say that Rondo getting thrown out followed by Doc calling the team soft had something to do with last night, although it helped to be playing a team that just lost to the winless wizards.

Yup

Portland seemed pretty disinterested in defense.

  • KG IS THE KING
It was apparent that Terry and Lee played more "freely" last night. I am not sure if they can play like that with Rondo having the ball most of the time. Terry esp. he's at his best handling and scoring, unlike Ray Benedict Allen who gets his shot off right after a Rondo pass. We'll see tonight if they can play like the way they played last night.
