So what did LeBron do when he was preent for our ring ceremony in '09?  Sat in the lockeroom.

Always do the opposite of LeBron.  You'll always make the right choice.

exactly TP !!!  WADE + JAMES = NO CLASS

The Celtics organization always does the right thing, even if it isn't the easiest thing.

They need to go out there and watch the ceremony because, as I said, it is the right and respectful thing to do.  Secondly, it will provide motivation by seeing those rings get passed out and the banner being raised.

Watch it displaying class, dignity and respect.

While watching and listening, picture it being you a year from now. Then begin to stew about the fact that it isn't you. Watch Lebron and Dwayne do their self-satisfied grin and wave. Get mad. Look at Ray as he's thinking he'll be a part of this ceremony next year. Get angered. Listen to the crowd and imagine each one of them thinking "not 1, not 2, not 3..."  Get motivated by it. Get infuriated by it. Hold onto it!

But on the outside show respect.

well stated, as was also done by other posters. if we object to the selfish, childish, unprofessional behavior of others, what does it say about us to urge the celtics to replicate this behavior?

not only would the celtics by selfish, childish, and unprofessional, they would be hypocrites to condemn such behavior and then indulge in it themselves. so would we.

the celtics have class and pride. i love that about the team. i hope that they show everyone how the celtics conduct themselves as professionals....and then proceed to beat the living crap out of the heat. ;D

go celtics!!

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I say watch it. I think it can be used as a nice learning tool for the rookies and new guys.

Let our new people embrace the feelings and see our quiet rage at falling short.

Then when the game starts, we proceed to destroy the Heat.

I don't care what they do either way.

I don't see it as a benefit to them as they are already motivated enough and it's not going to "sting" anymore.

I think it could be a distraction and you don't want to get to fired up or they'll lose their wind in the first 30 seconds (even though that will prob happen to KG anyway).

I would think staying in the lockerroom maintainging focus would be better for them in this particular game.

Bottom line though whatever they decide i'm down with. I don't think it would be unclassy to not stay and watch. It was probably not classy for KG and Rondo to bounce before the game ended (or whatever they did) last year though

Rajon Rondo suggested he won't remain courtside for the ceremony. Would Rivers force his team to watch as a motivating tactic?

"If I have to use [the ring ceremony], then there’s something wrong with our guys," said Rivers. "I don’t think I need to use it as anything to fire our guys up. Listen, we gotta be fired up for 82 games, and not one."

I want them to watch it.
Also if they don't then I will hear about how "classless" the Celtics are (yet I don't think I heard about LeBron being classless when he didn't see the Celtics getting their rings and raising their banner).

I would stay in the locker room to discuss second half strategy and get some treatment on their legs by the PTs while refueling with gatoraid and stretching out/relaxing while the heat are unfocussed and unrested from the ceremony.
I agree.   8) ;)

Doc will make them watch it because he is from the old school  It's just the right thing to do.  You show respect for your opposition, especially those that you know are on your level.  Boston hates Miami, but they respect them.  They're a great team, it wasn't a fluke that they won the title.  They have talent and could very well win it again.

You give respect where respect it deserved.  The first time MIA beat Boston in the playoffs, LeBron acknowledged his respect for Boston in saying he knew they were a tough team and he couldn't do it alone.  Of course you hate your opposition but you still respect them.

Make the rookies and newcomers watch.  Let KG, Rondo, and the Truth do whatever they feel like doing.

I'd watch.

We were ONE game away from playing for (and in my opinion, winning) #18.  And if you count game 2 as rigged (as many do), then that trophy is ours.

And it's our mission to take it back.
