One of the best six man for the past 5 years - and well known man without a conscience - won't shoot the ball cause he is running the offense.  My God!!!

Only on Doc's world   >:(

Stop experimenting with the Jet!  Let's keep it simple stupid please....

Even Tommy was commenting about JTerry's lack of aggressiveness.....

Backcourt is over-crowed. Playing Bradley, Terry and Lee 20mpg each will hurt more than it helps. Nevermind finding minutes for Barbosa.

It's a good problem to have but still ... a little concerned about Doc making a mistake and playing a four man backcourt rotation instead of a guard man rotation. They'll get much more out of Avery Bradley and Jason Terry with Courtney Lee's role minimized.

This is likely a reality, at least for the playoffs.

Initially I thought Doc was going to at least partly solve the problem by giving Lee some minutes at the 3 and giving Green even more 4 minutes.  However, with Sullinger looking pretty good and Darko now in the mix, I don't know how many minutes there'll be for Green at the 4 (there will be some, but likely not enough to then give Lee some time at the 3).

Still, as you note, it's a good problem to have.

I think you'll see a reduced role from Pierce too, before Green.

True.  But even if you only played Pierce 28 minutes per game (the KG treatment), you'd only have 20 mpg remaining at the 3.

I think there's no way Green should play fewer than 28 minutes and there's probably a case for more minutes for him.  Thus, he already needs at least 8 minutes at the 4 spot and if you want to get Lee minutes at 3, you'd have to play Green even more at the 4, which would in turn eat away at the minutes of Sullinger and Bass.

Again, this is a great problem to have.  However, it seemed like we were at least two deep at every position a month ago, and now with Darko and Barbosa, we now have 12 guys who all have a good claim to be in the rotation.

It's a great problem to have, but not an easy problem to solve.

I'd like to see Pierce stay up around 33 minutes.

Not a fan of key players playing sub-30 minutes in the regular season and then cranking them up to 36-40 minutes a night in the post season.

..what in the?..

Josh Smith literally made me feel awful for Atlanta fans during that playoff series. That guy, for all of his physical skills, ridiculous dunks and chase down blocks is as dumb as I've ever seen a basketball player come.

Expect that everyone will be hurt at some point in time, Bradley won't be back for a while, Lee will be starting, Jet is pretty much the backup PG for Rondo, Barbosa can be Lee's backup. By the time The Playoffs start someone will have played themselves out of the rotation... at that point you play whose had the most success.

Doc has also talked about Lee's ability to come off the bench and play at the 3.

Then you have obviously never seen Javall McGee play the game of basketball before.

Pierce however is going nowhere and it is ludacris to put together a proposal involving him... Plus Smith would be an amazing addition to this team and I could see him coming here at some point this season with the depth and assets we have to get hime.

Anyway, to address the OP. I am worried about having too many guards in the mix and having too much depth however, like someone stated its not a bad problem to have...

The problem I see is that Pierce and Green are both great players and both deserve 30 minutes or more a game. With Doc liking the lineup of Pierce at the 2 and Green at the three with an already log jammed back court, thats where I see the problem is going to be. How are we going to give Rondo, Lee, Terry, Bradley (when healthy) Pierce, Green, Bass, KG the 30+ minutes a game they deserve while also giving Barbosa, Sully, and Darko the 15 to 20 minutes they deserve and also fitting in a healthy Chris Wilcox or Colling 5 to 10 minutes a game. There arent enough minutes to go around for this squad.

I doubt with Wilcox being healthy Collins will get any playing time bar garbage time and some certain back to backs where starters will be rested.

Umm...what?

Josh averaged 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists in that series.

Al Hortford didn't play most of the series, Joe Johnson played horribly, and they took us to 6 games.

Josh Smith destroyed us while he was out there.

Yeah he had one pretty bad game that I recall (the one after his injury?) but he did a very good job of keeping the Hawks in the series without a ton of help otherwise.
