Couple thoughts:

1. I don't understand why people are so averse to having Bradley play the point for us as the primary back up for Rondo. I would feel extremely comfortable with him at point for 10-15 minutes per night. I thought he did an admirable job last season when Rondo went down and his handle has gotten better every year. He's not the play maker Rondo is, but he would bring a very physical, defensive minded presence to the back up position. I would certainly rather have him than Dooling. Thoughts?

2. Moving forward this year, I would really like to see us do the following:

A) Cut Kurz and Downs
B) Sign Pietrus
C) If Darko and Wilcox are producing well and there is some other veteran at the deadline who would help us more, cut Collins if he isn't adding anything or Joseph if he isn't panning out and add that guy.

I think Pietrus brings us toughness, length, glue and additional depth at the 2/3 spots. I also think he provides extra value because if either Pierce or Jeff Green go down for a few games, we would still be at least two deep at SF. Perfect fit.

KG / Darko / Collins / Melo
Bass / Wilcox / Sullinger
Pierce / Jeff Green / Pietrus
Bradley / Lee / Joseph
Rondo / Jet / (Bradley)

That's 15 solid guys with the following caveats:
Collins is marginal
Melo and Joseph need time to develop

So, let's just say 12 "solid" guys in our rotation - for now.

That is what I'd do and just get on with the season with a set roster.

If I recall right Bradley was not comfortable at point and it certainly held back his natural instincts. When Allen went down for awhile is when he went on a tear and the Team came alive with renewed vigor.

I don't like what I saw from Avery at the point where he tried it as a rookie. Deer in headlights, couldn't even bring the ball up the floor without getting it stripped. If that was just nerves, and he's decent enough as a ballhandler, we can probably put up with his mediocre playmaking abilities in a backup role.

I think that's correct on both assessments.

Bradley was "turrible" at the point in his rookie season. But when Rondo went down last year, Bradley did just fine at the point, we went 6-2 with him during that stretch, and I thought it was a mini break out for him.

Also correct to me is that once he was put at the 2 spot when Ray went down, he really broke out and played some very good basketball - certainly his best to date at the 2 spot.

Personally, if Bradley brings this year what he was bringing last year when healthy, I'd like to see him on the court as much as possible.

My ideal scenario would be him starting at the 2 spot once he's back and healthy and then sliding to the point when Rondo needs a break - hopefully that would earn him about 30-35 minutes a night on the court, with about 25 of those minutes at the 2 spot. Lee and Jet can fill in the balance, with Jet also at the 1 & 2 spots for a few minutes, depending on need.

I am also confident that Bradley and Jet could handle the point reasonably well if Rondo was out for 8-10 games.

That's why I think adding additional veteran depth behind Pierce and Green is a very wise move. Enter Pietrus.

Peaches doesn't want the vet min or the bi-annual or be a failsafe option, otherwise he'd probably be here or he'd be taken.

Well...what is he getting now?  Zero.  I read the NESN report about the teams that are interested in him - but are those teams going to offer that much more?

I thought it was wrong to let Pietrus go and still do.  I would like him back on this team if possible.

Hey, I don't know how the man thinks. All I know is that he is unsigned, and that report came out a WHILE ago.

I didn't want Peaches gone either, but it's not really up to me or any of us.
