KG full no trade clause

I don't think that's true, instead KG recognized that Danny would trade him if he thought it'd be best for the C's and made sure his agent took steps so that it couldn't happen without his consent.

  KG signed for a hometown discount, I don't think he'd be happy being shipped off to another team because that contract makes him a better trade asset.

I think you nailed it.  KG would have been a heck of an asset with that contract.

And I think that is why Pierce didn't get the trade exception.  He was basically paid market value, or even slightly above (although it still was a bargain for the C's, because Pierce opted out of his old contract which would have cost them a lot more in luxury tax).

I am not so sure about that.  The C's HAD tried to trade him.  And I would not be surprised if they told him they wouldn't trade him in Miami.  Remember, their selling point was that they respect their high profile players, which they were telling him he was one. 

Right.  But nothings stopping the Heat from trying to trade him either.  I'm sure the Celtics told him they respect their high profile players at first too.  If it makes the team better you do it and that's no different with Miami.  Just saying I doubt job security was a real reason why he decided to join his rival.

Oh, absolutely.  But if Ray really did value the comfort of knowing he can settle down without being traded (which is my speculation, based on various things I have heard), then he is much more likely to believe the person who he has no track record with, than the one who has actively tried to trade him on multiple occasions.
